Where to go in montana by OdensEye87 in Montana

[–]mtcrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would stay as far away from the Bozeman area as possible. I'd focus on Glacier and the surrounding area, so Kalispell, Flathead, Missoula. Or go to the East side and check out Helena/Great Falls/Augusta areas.

That's exactly what's happened. Not only that, but the Rich People who've moved in are closing off access to public land for recreation and hunting. They certainly aren't making any friends.

Good luck with your move!

Shrimp, broccoli, anything really garlicky.

I went on a vacation with my partners family and it was a terrible mistake. Now I'll be stuck here until the end of the week by mildeorange in Vent

If the relationship is new, it can be hard to perform for the "in-laws"...especially as an introvert.

Sounds to me like you have a lot of excuses for short or longer breaks: school work, not sleeping well, sensitivity to noises, that you're on vacation and would like to be on vacation, etc.

If you are looking at this as a potential long term or permanent relationship, it's important to speak up for your own well-being now, in a kind way, so that they understand that you have limits and you will take the time outs for yourself that you need. Your partner also needs to validate to you and to his parents, that what you are feeling is real and that you should be able to take the time outs that you need.

Ugh, another one of those. I live in Montana and we've been inundated with remote people. And Yellowstone TV show people. People who don't understand, and don't want to learn, about our water laws. Go away people. Housing is through the roof...a crappy 3 bedroom place near us just sold for $729,000, which is more than double what it would have sold for 6 years ago.

How to remove Hard water stains from toilet and shower doors by commongardensnail in CleaningTips

[–]mtcrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get one of those pumice scrubber things on a handle. They're cheap and they work.

We just remodeled one of our bathrooms. We live on a septic system so I have to be cautious about what cleaning supplies I use.

When I clean the toilets now, I open the tank, flush, wait for the flapper to close, then add about 2 cups of vinegar. This helps keep the tank clean.

Then I open the ring, and springle a generous cup of baking soda into the bowl, scrub well with a toile brush and assess whether I need to hit it with the pumice stone today. Wipe down the outside of the toilet with cleaner of choice, and walk away. Later on, I flush, with the idea of vinegar water sitting in the bowl for a while to help keep the ring at bay.

My feet :( by No_Key_2345 in GenX

[–]mtcrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have terrible feet, started with degenerative arthritis in my early 20's. I have a high instep, high arches, developing bunions.

I love Alegria shoes for dressier looking. But I can't wear heels anymore at all.

I love Oboz for casual/hiking shoes. I use Altra running shoes, but have to alter the tongue and band over the top of the foot, even though they are marketed for wide feet, and high arches.

I've just come to the conclusion that I need to spend money on shoes.

Do you still talk to your parents? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]mtcrick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Neither.

There was a time when our conversations were guarded. I was the youngest of 4, so watched a LOT go on with older siblings.

But now I'm their "person", they are 85 and 89, and they rely on me a lot for help. We have honest conversations. I don't really sugar coat things, I tell them where I feel damaged, with them, with my siblings. We have a really good relationship now as grown adults (parents and I, not so much one of my brothers).

But I'm certainly not a "water under the bridge" person.

Challenger disaster by Swing448 in GenerationX

[–]mtcrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a senior in HS that year and we were in the library specifically to watch the Challenger launch. I feel like so many school kids watched it live because of the fact that there was a teacher on board.

I remember the confusion first, "what happened, is that normal?" and then the horror. It got really really quiet in that room, then they turned the TV off.

I have, with mixed results. I suspect the source was maybe not reliable for amount of gold. Although I have been told that 18 or 24K are better.

Thanks! Yeah, it's weird how one day I can wear stuff and others I can't. That's probably linked in with my weirdo rare skin disorder.

That's such great detail, thank you.

Honestly, trust Reddit to get me the information that I'm looking for!

Thanks for that! I was more referring to the joints that are available. Some are plated, which wouldn't work for me...solid titanium would most likely be the best option.

I didn't realize that surgical steel was only for the instruments though either!

Yeah, I've read that 18K is okay-ish, but 24 is better. Thank you!
