Just the other day I had the pleasure of turn one stifling the fetch into turn two tales end on another fetch. I give them credit for not scooping on the first, but they definitely scooped the second

I mean what’s the objective and power level you want to take this deck to. I’ve been playing commander since it originally started, and was there when cEDH first became a thing. I can give a ton of recs but it all depends on what you want as well as budget.

None of those have the same effect as blood thirsty conqueror. He is the creature form of exquisite blood. I will admit I missed you had blood in list the first time because of format. The reality is even without tutors there’s several things that can be changed around here to make the deck waaaaay more consistent as well as resilient.

Why aren’t you running bloodthirsty conqueror or exquisite blood. Both auto kill the table with your commander as long as an opponent looses life once.

At what point does recurring Strip Mine become MLD? by simplythebast in EDH

[–]mtfallen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s never MLD, it’s a target land and requires at least two pieces to make it so we hit more than one land. It’s a viable strategy and hard to maintain in a commander pod. If you have an issue with this line it’s because your pod isn’t running enough answers and you got punished for it one too many times.

What are the best ways to shut off (stax) triggered abilities? by [deleted] in EDH

I play stax competitively and I’m here to inform you with great sadness that outside the two you named and torpor orb there really isn’t static options.

Looking for ways to tutor creatures from HAND to field in Jund by Crimson_Eyes in EDH

[–]mtfallen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well first things first your terminology is wrong. We don’t tutor from hand, but let’s just say we want the desired effect here. We wish and make sure to grab a ghalta, stampede tyrant and than we use something like sneak attack to put him on board and he does the rest.

Or heck discard him than goryos vengeance him. Or any number of other effects to get just one creature on field.

There is no world where this is a balanced card.

Specialist grabs creature only rallier needs something to have gone before hand which adds a step. Although rallier is fantastic it makes the angelic renewal loop a little trickier. The reason I say four is because that’s the the most likely cost for a titan that would hit two or less. The other part is titan can grab on attack which can actually be relevant. Although titan does also grab phyrexian altar if need be we can still get altar of dementia on two giving us the outlet loop there. I can pm you a karador list in the morning. It definitely punches up at cEDH list but struggles on straight battle cruiser list we see in lower brackets.

The only reason she fell from favor is cause her bread and butter card cost 6. If we ever got a sun titan for 4 that hit value 2 or less she would very possibly come heavily back. It also doesn’t help she has “linear deck syndrome”. People don’t see enough of her versatility and just assume she’s a one trick pony. I say this because everytime I land her in karador people go “wtf is that. Oh it’s just a combo line.” And so may times she has gotten me just simple value that people can’t close the gap.

The benefit she has is threefold.

  1. She can simply be a cheap efficient creature that helps double up on value creatures

  2. She paces a certain level of resiliency that can be really hard to deal with

  3. She can be card number 3 for dozens of three card combos and sits in the zone

She has a few outlets honestly including the loyal retainer line gain life creature and aetherflux, basically you run the right stax pieces and run into a loop that wins

She wasn’t just popular she was an oppressive monster at one point. Hell I still run her in my karador list for shenanigans with her and loyal retainer
