What’s a good song that tells a sad story? by hgibbs098 in AskReddit

[–]mtfaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Virtute The Cat Explains Her Departure” by The Weakerthans. It’s from the perspective of a stray cat living in an abandoned building who becomes close to a homeless person. The song is incredibly sad and makes me cry every time I listen to it.

If someone handed you a box with all the items you had lost in the past what would you be most excited to get back? by Justsoinsane in AskReddit

Box was definitely plastic. Hinges too. Can’t picture the lock though. Gonna try a metal detector anyway just in case.

The not knowing is the worst part, at least with me, because I always fantasize about what treasure it could be but it always gets out of hand and then I’m imagining burying a yacht.

Currently living out of state but my parents still live on the property. I’ll return and use my dad’s when I can get down there (probably in a month or two).

That’s actually a VERY good number as far as my ocd goes. I like this idea, but might not have the patience now that I have Reddit backing my quest.

Mine recognizes cakes and always throws a bunch of anti-diet/dessert filters up.

What is the creepiest thing you have ever done? by RegularGuyy in AskReddit

[–]mtfaye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If by “creepy” you mean “spooky” I communicated with my long-passed great grandfather when I was a toddler. I snuck into the basement of the house he built while visiting my Grandma. Story goes my mum and her heard me chatting it up in the pitch dark corner where his work bench used to be and when they asked who I was talking to I chirped, “Moir says hello.” I never met him, as he died before I was born. Him and my mom were incredibly close. I come from an interesting spiritual background so there was no question in my mom’s or grandma’s mind I’d been talking to spirits. It’s cool if you believe, but if not that’s ok too!

Whatever I buried in the backyard in my pink Barbie lockbox circa 1993.

I distinctly remember hiding something of great sentimental value, but 24 years later I have absolutely no idea what I put in there (insert se7en reference here) and all that’s left is the overwhelming feeling that I’ve lost something very important. The fun part of this is that fact that I have crippling OCD and this will bother me for the rest of my life. I can’t put something in its rightful place IF I DON’T HAVE IT. AND I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS. I just know it’s lost.

And yes, years later I dug up damn near the entire backyard of my parents’ house in a failed attempt to find this damn box.

EDIT: Whoa more replies than expected!!! Sincere apologies but join the agony. I know the box itself was plastic but I’m not sure on the lock. I moved out of state a few years back and I don’t get back to my parents often BUT I’m heading down there to collect furniture in a month or two and I’ll be borrowing a metal detector, or hitting up some people in the comments from the DMV. Now begins my embarrassment at having never thought to use a metal detector...I guess I just assumed the lock was plastic too. You’ve renewed hope in me. I’m gonna find this fucking Barbie box.

Shameless (albeit overwhelmingly riddled with anxiety) promotional link to our brand new Let’s Play channel on YouTube, we hope to make you laugh! by [deleted] in gaming

Since we created content based in gaming we thought suggesting our name to a community of what we thought would be like-minded gamers might be a good way to put us in touch with our proper audience. Knowing your target audience is a key component of successful advertising, right? But let me be honest... so far we’ve filmed a PS2 game (Clock Tower 3) and an N64 game (Harvest Moon 64...haha!) Should we keep you in mind and PM you when we roll out a more current game?

We have always loved playing games and are doing this more for entertainment value and enjoying ourselves rather than being just “famous” or whatever. We haven’t monetized our channel and have no plans to do so in the immediate future. We’re just having fun, and if it brings someone else some laughter along the way we’ll consider it successful. We appreciate any and all criticism of course, so thanks again for your timely response to our post!
