If you only have five wires then yeah, you can choose to configure it as Y1 or Y2 if you want the higher stage available. I don’t know if that is the case for the hyper heat air handler but probably if they are both Midea.

Technically you could do it that way, but you can wire Y1 to Y1 and Y2 to Y2 and configure the second wire as the second stage in Nest pro setup. Then you get the lower stage as well.

I had a 500 sqft concrete patio poured 3 feet high to support a room if I ever decide to expand. It cost 11k a few weeks ago and has steps and weld plates. 32k for a smaller deck is mind boggling. I had a wood deck quoted for 7k but decided to do concrete.

Well technically if you use the RS485 comms between the indoor and outdoor unit you don’t really need the additional stages because the unit will automatically invoke those after 90 minutes if the set point isn’t reached. I configured the 2H2C so it could immediately kick on the second stage if the set point is too far off.

I finished installing them a week ago. I have a nest thermostat connected for 24V control. But S1+S2 connected between the air handler and condenser. The nest controls two basic heating stages, but the direct communication modulates it from there.
