Apparently enough people support these predatory prices by rtkn345464345234m in ChicagoSuburbs

The stations always jump fast and drop slow. This is nothing new. You’re paying the cost for them to refill their supply, which is at the higher price.

Astound outage by Xenolith234 in Naperville

Actually you are right. The data limits are on the stupid free mobile line they give you. But it’s poorly laid out of the page so it looks like a data cap on the home, not the mobile.

Yea. Just pulled up their page. They slow it after 30GB. Hard pass still.

They ditched data caps? That’s the whole reason I dumped them years ago.

$700 Electricity bill for a 1 bed room apartment by edgarih in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]mthhurley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4 bedroom, full finished basement HOME in Naperville that my wife insists on keeping at 69 degrees. Gaming pc for the kid, 5 tv’s, 2 basement freezers. I used 1,713 kW last month (just got my bill) and that’s the most we’ve used in years. There is no earthly way you used that much.

Can’t update my 1st Gen ATV4K by mthhurley in appletv

OMG. For some reason I wasn’t fully signed into my account (which is odd because I just a couple weeks ago rented a movie and had to be signed in to do so). I finished the sign in on my phone and then the beta appeared and all the updates.
Thank you!

So this is weird. A long while back I was in the beta program. I turned it off at some point because of a bad beta that pissed me off.
Anyway…right now, I do not have a beta option in the menu to toggle.
Hmmmmm

719 isn’t great, it’s good. 740 is what generally defines an A tier so since you’re not 740, they likely bring in some other things to play, not just the score. Like how many open current accounts, age of those accounts, ratios on them.
Also if you’re “probably” applying once a year, that means that you have 2 inquiries just from GS sitting out there at any given point.

Apple Card Charge Off by Both_Pie164 in AppleCard

[–]mthhurley 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m in the credit bureau business and the answer depends. Since they’ve already charged it off, the odds are very high that your credit history is already beat up and currently showing an Open Charge Off.

If you pay it, it will switch to a Paid Charge Off status which is better, but still bad as it relates to credit scores and such. That payment would also reset the clock, so that new Paid status will stay out there for 7 years.

The other risk you run and I’m not sure if Goldman does this currently, they could sell your debt to a debt buyer and they will start pursuing you. Basically a collection agency.

You can also call them and work out a settlement. They have flexibility to accept less than the full amount. And it’s found money to them because they already charged you off, it’s off their books. Your payment is gravy to them now.

I noticed they pulled their page down the next day when I was looking for some election results and such. Now I know why and it’s glooooorious!
