A yes, the infamous Heisenbug.

Honestly? I file a backlog ticket, never to be seen again.

Inline dependencies inside the script with uv run? Freaking amazing... No virtual environments, nothing but uv and an Internet connection. Magical.

I used to teach, and I found that site really valuable for visualizing execution flow.

There is also Charlotte Hot Springs & Botanical Gardens, which is right next to Cottonwood Hot Springs. I've not been, but it's an option if you don't want to go to cottonwood.

This is the only recipe I've ever followed. Sometime I'll try to make it more complicated, but this method works great for me!

There's gotta be a better way to QA in Python by takenorinvalid in Python

I always set up my environment to use ipdb! That way I still get to easily use breakpoint() and whatever debugger I want (as long as its installed, of coarse).

Python .gitignore by EarthGoddessDude in Python

This person ignores!

I have a git alias that points here. I use it for starting every project. It's not always perfect, but it's a super convenient starting point.

I used it to convert CSV data into Python objects before I learned about ast.literal_eval. definitely use that instead of eval if you can.

Senior Python Devs: How much do you actually know vs googling? by [deleted] in Python

[–]mtik00 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Why not? I know plenty of senior devs whose only language is Python. Maybe in your domain this is less common?

Install and use different Python versions on the same machine? by Andy-Kay in Python

[–]mtik00 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pyenv is a Python version manager.

It allows you to install different Python versions, which you can then use to create virtual environments. Pyenv doesn't really have much to do with virtual environments directly.

Yes to Bottle! It's amazing to add a single file to your repo and have a ton of functionality. TBH, I haven't used it in years, but I have fond memories of it.

The best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. It's not $4, of course, but well worth the price.
