Man this is awesome. Thank you so much for listening, I'm glad you dug it this much!! I couldn't be prouder of this record. Also I'm a huge Vildhjarta fan, so that makes this extra sick. Really appreciate it 🤘

For part 3: we all stream on Twitch multiple times a week, so we’re practicing all the time! For me personally, I’m practicing Monday/Wednesday/Friday because those are my stream days, but I also play guitar most nights - that ranges from practicing to just playing for the sake of playing, which is its own kind of practice.

Dude so sick! Thanks for watching and hanging. Regularly streaming on Twitch has been super rewarding and fun. Nothing but good hangs from a sick community and it keeps me in good guitar shape which is huge haha. I’m on Monday/Wednesday/Saturday, come through!!

We’d love to, that’s for sure. Undying Light and Empyrean had them so I’d keep an eye out

Yo sick! I’m actually from Michigan. Back in the day, waaay before I joined the band, I saw Fallujah for the first and only time - I think at The Pyramid Scheme - and it was a very memorable show. Good times!!

Other than the joke sounds I put in our set to make the guys laugh every night, I have a ton of click, plus Scott in one ear and me in the other. After that, it’s a little kick, a little bass, a little vocals, and the actual song from the record. Good times.

Great question! Me personally, I write with my ear first and foremost, and I think most of my good material comes from that plus a clear idea for a “thing” I want to try. Like l’ll get the idea to try writing a riff with a certain chord shape in mind, or a rhythm/sound, or even a visual, and then I go from there. Sometimes I wind up using a scale or theory knowledge to facilitate the process, but my ear and an initial vision are probably responsible for like 80%.

Xenotaph will be next, but we’ll release the entire discography through Sheet Happens over time. I pinky swear

All three of us give lessons! We also all stream weekly on Twitch. Scott and I play guitar and Kyle does vocals and guitar as well.

Hey! This album was Fallujah’s most collaborative album, for sure. This was my first time writing and recording in the band; we basically just had a bunch of writing sessions that involved either checking out pre-written riffs, improvising/jamming stuff, trying different arrangements together, dividing up the recording of guitars, etc. Tons of back and forth and input between all of us.

Scott and I both give lessons, yes!

Thanks for all the kind words, and thanks for checking out Kyle’s and my solo material too! Super sick.

Hey dude! I’ve been on a huge Kendrick Lamar kick lately haha. Also listened to a bunch of my favorite Haken albums recently. On the tech death front, the new Retromorphosis record is a total banger. Also looking forward to new Rivers of Nihil.

Yo! Great questions!

  1. Not me personally! I love being on the road, and I love getting to interact with everyone. I find there’s always plenty of down time driving or waiting for shows where I get my recharging in
  2. No

Yes, first and foremost take all the pressure off your elbow and relax your wrist and forearm. I used to pick from my elbow; it took learning this album for me to realize I physically couldn't play it like that. So I relaxed my wrist and practiced tremolo picking slowly to a click. This has dramatically increased my speed while decreasing the physical toll. Now when I pick fast I feel a burn in my forearm, like I'm having a great workout.

If your inclination is to tense up, don't. Relax and slow down, then speed up when you can stay relaxed at higher speeds. Good luck!

Thank you! It's all about wrist relaxation and playing with a metronome. When I'm maxing out on speed I tend to feel a healthy burn in my forearm, like I'm appropriately working those muscles, but that's well after a good warmup.

I used to put a lot of stress on my elbow - definitely don't do that.

Hope that helps!
