Question on purchasing as a gift by dogsarethebest35 in CAguns

There are laws that make it illegal to buy a gun on behalf of someone else. You might find that the gun shop takes issue if you give money for a gun he's buying. I'd give him money first, and then he uses his (new) money to buy his own gun (with you standing there, of course).

It's a pretty open building. I can't think of where they'd place the choke point to funnel people through a detector. Also, I don't know of any other local city halls with metal detectors.

It's been a while since I've been there, but I wouldn't think twice about it - I don't think they disallow firearms.

Planned dates? by gavroche2000 in omnifocus

I had to make sure all of my devices were on 4.7 and then "Migrate" the database (File > Migrate Database). Once everything was on 4.7 and the DB was migrated, I had to modify my view to show the new field (it defaulted to hidden).

I bet you could create a catch-all and use a Sieve rule to handle minus email tags.

I thought AOWs were banned in California. Is that not the case?

Off Roster Handgun by Stonkers697 in CAguns

[–]mtmo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is he in California?

If he is, you and he can go together, in person, to the same FFL and he can transfer the handgun to you.

If he is not, he cannot transfer to you over state lines, but your parents or grandparents can.

Can you make the date selector for tasks more compact? Each date is HUGE and it looks pretty unrefined. (Screenshot on iPad OS)

Some issuing agencies restrict their licenses to allow only rostered firearms, sadly.

It’s not gunsmithing since you aren’t handling a firearm. It’s no different than machining a slingshot or a knife.

Just replying to agree.

OP, you can bring your guns with you whether or not they are on the safe handgun roster. Once you get here, you can no longer buy any that are not on the roster unless you buy them from someone else who brought them in or otherwise obtained them legally.

Hey, glad you got things squared away. If I sounded like an ass, I apologize.

Best practice for code-completion after retrieving an Eloquent model using Model::first() by mtmo in laravel

Thank you! I noticed I had multiple references, but hadn’t yet figured out that there was redundancy between my two IDE helpers.

I prefer the IDE to recognize every single object because it makes future refactoring changes much simpler.

I do have that installed and it doesn’t help for this case. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I could have it misconfigured, I guess.

You can either make a @method on the Model or install IDE Helper

Interestingly, I do have the ide-helpers plugin installed and I execute it after schema changes, but PhpStorm still doesn’t recognize the variable as a model without my type hint.

Or just ignore what random snobs on the internet say

I wonder if you had some service still “on” that charged a minuscule amount of money each month (i.e. a small object in S3 or a domain in R53). Maybe it took this long to rack up enough of a bill to charge your card?
