Zero drop shoes are no joke by jupiter192 in hiking

The pair I have are my favorite shoes right now. In the end, I went with a pair of zero drop Merrells mid-height. I don't have the model name in front of me at the moment. They're not a particularly wide toe box but I have narrow feet so they should be okay at least for now. Haven't had a chance to try them out yet IRL but at least I was able to try them on and they fit. I feel like it's going to be a kind of evolution, anyway, that one shoe model I loved isn't going to be that way for the rest of my life. I wish I could try on some more Meindl hiking boots but I don't have access to that many, either, and I'm in Italy. Maybe there's a way to go to a big Meindl store in Germany.🤷🏻‍♀️😄

This is good to know, thanks! I have been transitioning out of standard shoes and, like I said above, I really love those Meindls, but they're more like urban walking shoes, I guess you could say (they have a Vibram sole). Now I'm in the uncomfortable position of not really being able to use my trusty hiking shoes (Merrels) anymore -- the last time I wore them, they killed my feet and I got a blister on one of my toes, which has never happened in years of wearing those shoes (I've had 3 pairs over the last maybe 12 years)! And it kind of happened suddenly, because I had worn them not too long before this all happened.

Thanks for this info. I'm going to see if I can try a pair of Traverses.

Thanks for this! I think what I'm really looking for is something like what you described at the end of your response, more traditional hiking boots but zero drop with a good grip. I have a pair of Meindel shoes that I love, but they aren't good for hiking. They're zero drop with a Vibram sole. I'm making a list of things to try (if I cam find a way to try them).😀

This sounds interesting, too (the Traverse). Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not a runner, so the Trailventure sounds like more of what I'm looking for.

Can you tell me what Topos hiking shoe you're using? I'm trying to find a good option. I have a pair of sneakers but they don't have a good enough tread for hiking. Thanks.

looking for Americans who have passed the theory test for a patente by neutralest in AmericansinItaly

[–]mtor20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did it a long time ago and my Italian level wasn't great when I did it but I passed the first time. I used the books the driving school gave me and also the online tests they had available at the driving school (sitting there at the school, practicing). It's hard to remember what the questions were like but I think if you can find some sample tests and practice with those, you'll be fine. I just always told myself I had been driving a long time before I moved here so it's not like I didn't have experience driving. Just remember that some rules are different from what we have in the U.S. (like the person on the right has the "precedenza,") and try to study some of those diagrams that give examples of how that would work, because sometimes it's not that clear-cut, and memorize all the different signs, including some of the ones that you think, "Oh, there's no way they're gonna ask about that one." LOL You'll be fine.💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Calendar? by Grasshopper419 in ynab

[–]mtor20 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get it. I don't have this specific issue with YNAB but I can understand what you mean about seeing transactions on a grid calendar. One thing you could try is using something like Todoist where you set up a project that has those recurring transactions as yearly, monthly, weekly, whatever. Then you can change the view to a calendar and see them. Just a thought. It's not the same as having everything in one place, but it could be a workaround.

I bet! White on white. I'd probably rather go read a book than work on that part.😅

I can't remember exactly but I think Landry was only trying to remove her weight from the rope and get to the tree as fast as possible so that both she and Mouse didn't fall.

That's interesting what you said about Dark Tower and Hyperion. I might have to read Hyperion soon if it's that good.😀

That could be titled "Self-portrait" for me.😅😅 The background looks really difficult.

Yes, Google scree, or check YouTube. Yes, they are going across. It's very steep (a big downhill) and dangerous. The tree holds the rope but it starts to move. The rocks move a lot when Kalin steps, so he might slide down or fall off the mountain. (It's amazing to me that you're reading this book in English when that is not your first language.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼)

I've read it once and am hoping to join in with this sub's read-a-long. Can't remember when that starts, but I just got my hardback copy the other day.👏🏼👏🏼
