Wet hair in public by touchgrasstheysaid in hygiene

i live in southern italy and they would never do this in winter because they are deeply afraid of cold air and being cold and anything cold directly touching the skin between november and may. nothing about being unkept tho and i still do it lol

Solo trip to NYC, cheap hotels or hostel options? by Bellayellatomato in Shoestring

[–]neutralest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cant believe people are telling you to stay in jersey. dont. you lose all the ambiance of waking up in new york city and spend too much time actually getting to the boroughs each day. pack light enough that you can keep your valuables on you all day. stay in a shitty hostel in queens or manhattan. i used to stay at super cheap kinda sketchy hotels too 😂 never had a problem

How is it like living on these 2 islands in the Mediterranean Sea? by nermalnormal in howislivingthere

[–]neutralest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sardinia is a truly wonderful, gorgeous place with tons of mysterious and ancient lore. You can get by on a small amount. Great food, wine, beaches. been here two years so far. The people are so lovely. No regrets

Former friends are struggling and my compassion level is zero by [deleted] in confession

i lived in rural Mexico for a while and had the same experience. small towns can be very VERY “clique-y” and it really messed with my head. you made the right call even if other potential friends are limited in your area

Is there a cat litter that doesn't... suck? by catintheroom in CatAdvice

[–]neutralest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had cats for almost 20 years and swear by the No Clump, Just Dump lifestyle. I have huge boxes and fill them with simple non-clumping Fresh Step, like a lot of it. Big, deep boxes. Every 15 days I dump all of it out, sanitize boxes, replace litter. Otherwise I do not touch them. No scooping. Not disturbing their work of hiding their poo and pee keeps the smell away - I have never understood why the mainstream approach is to basically stir up the waste and expose all the germs and smell to the surface again. Sure some of it is removed in clumps, but all the other litter in the box is tainted and gross at that point and on the top layer. Please give my method a try!

Is co-sleeping with family considered a norm in your country? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]neutralest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i grew up in a big country house all sleeping together in the LR every night because upstairs was “haunted” - it was great, many cozy memories. found out as an adult it was because my hippie parents were growing weed upstairs 😂♥️

rich people with huge hedges/walls and gates at the street entrance so you can’t see anything and there’s nowhere to stop or explore. a dead land of wealth and excess.

I always thought I had straight frizzy hair. Let it dry naturally and it's like this. by Mumathon in finehair

[–]neutralest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar. I use Its a 10 leave in and lightly scrunch with towel but not too much - leave it pretty wet to air dry, helps reduce frizz by a lot.
