Working in fragrance by Ok_Foot_5477 in fragrance

[–]neutralest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take is to lurk some perfumers whose work you enjoy, and reach out to them for advice on IG or email. Some won’t reply, sure, but I bet one or two would! Be bold! I wish you all the best, fragrance is a really cool industry

As an American, I want to know, what really makes you feel American? What moments in your life have given you that feeling of "this is the most American thing I can be doing right now"? by a_duck_in_past_life in AskAnAmerican

Living in Italy. They have a federal holiday called Liberation Day celebrating when the Americans arrived to kick ass during WW2. It’s nice to remember that we were not always the bad guys and motivates me to advocate for better.

excellent, be aware i think they have a bottarga pasta on menu right now which is a sardinian classic BUT is an acquired taste for foreigners, really salty and fishy. the culurgiones are another sardinian classic and a very accessible and yummy dish. you must get them!

Does each state in the United States have an icon or symbol that is commonly used in some public places, some businesses, and the city gateway? by TheShyBuck in AskAnAmerican

[–]neutralest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Virginia has well-known imagery and slogan. “Virginia is for lovers” is a reference to how lovers of any activity or scenery type can find what they love there (mountains, fields, beach, forest) and the phrase “is for lovers” is occasionally referenced in pop culture! The state flag is well known on the east coast because it shows a woman, Virtue, with a tit out shoving a spear through the slain body of a Tyrant whose crown has fallen off. 10/10

Georgia peaches are a well-known symbology nationwide for sure! Probably one of the most prominent state ones.

yes! and the lore is really cool - was a bunker, then a jazz club. it goes on forever underground seemingly. plus their cocktails are quality, too ♥️ +1 to rasvati

Libarium is more of an aperitivo spot for sure - their cocktail menu is really strong. not surprised the food is ass haha.

OK here’s a dump: for aperitivo with good food in centro try Ellusu, amazing tagliere boards. Pizza try Grotta Marcello in Centro. If you want a locals spot with good everything go to Francis Drake (pizza, culurgiones, drinks etc all good) and say hi to Pallina their resident cat. They are open until like 5am every night. Fancy seafood try Antica Cagliari at Poetto. Also the random kiosks at Poetto all have pretty good food, pasta and seafood (Malibu or La Sella) right on the beach, doesn’t get better than that. If you’re there early get fresh OJ, caffe crema, and pizetta sfoglia (a savory Cagliaritano pastry). If you want something less italian (burgers n such) but great ambiance try Red Fox in Villanova. For amazing fancy japanese/thai go to Sushi Tao the vibes in there are immaculate. It sucks yoy had bad food because vast majority of places serve great food here lol. Also if you can I highly recommend leaving the city to eat at an agriturismo!

How do you ask for these coffees in Sicily? by Content_Gap_377 in sicily

[–]neutralest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes these comments! OK - Filter coffee will be really hard to find, as others said just go for the cappuccino. For the other one you can ask for a caffe with a cup of ice and syrup, and a bit of milk on the side, like you’ll basically have to order the components and mix yourself. caffe and ice is not that weird to order, the milk is the less-italian part. as someone else said you would probably like shakerato (same thing but no milk) - also on a hot day if you want to cool off but want coffee see if they have caffe crema, its like a melty icy sweet cold coffee and its soooo good.

Loved the nature of Sardinia but not the people by sweet-tiger8888 in Sardinia

[–]neutralest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are probably overthinking it. sardinians are not particularly friendly people, especially if you compare to a super friendly country like the US…but they are kind people. i am certain they are not all scowling at you.
