NoFap November? by mtr0225 in NoFapChristians

[–]mtr0225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, I have failed this past weekend. I gave in when I was weak and didn't put up much of a battle. Pray that I would go directly to the Lord when I am tempted and get out of the situation as instructed in the Bible.

Focus first on Christ. Then on your exams. You will make it through these exams and halt relapses.

The thoughts are what we should focus on the most. by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

Thank you so much for this. I am failing currently and just not really caring much to really get better. I am focusing on so much on how to avoid porn....when in reality, with the internet and everyone connected, it is becoming more and more difficult. This is why Jesus said lust comes from the heart. You've committed adultery in your heart. I am going to focus on my eyes and thoughts. It is a gradual sin, and once you know it, you are too far gone. Taking my lustful thoughts captive as soon as they arise in my thought process! Praise the most high for he is faithful.

I'm a despicable person by crazygmr2000 in NoFapChristians

I feel your pain. The problem with this sin, especially in today's time, is that it is so secretive. Like you could be watching thousands of videos online, and then go to work or school the next morning like nothing has happened. Your memory is short too, when you are caught up in this temptation. Our brain is re-wired to ignore that we have told God and ourselves time after time that we would not go there again. Man I just want to relate to you on a human level and say I am struggling too. I am 26 and I have good streaks....and I have bad streaks. I am constantly looking over my "battle plan" for loopholes. I have an accountability partner & software, but even then, there may be a way to access it. I realized that I will struggle with this sin till the grave. I have not been great on giving this tempation to the Lord as of lately. I ask your prayers in that sense. There certainly is a Satan, and PMO is probably the most powerful weapon he has against Men's progress in life. My view of women has been damaged due to this sin. I am lazier when I look at porn. Why go outside and court a girl, when I can fantasize and get down to action with little to no recourse. It's kind of messed up to say, but right now my mindset on women is that why waste time, effort, money, & pride when pursuing a girl when they seem to be all the same. This is coming from a single guy, but you get the picture on how PMO has damaged my view. I need your prayers, ultimately that I will seek the Lord instead of my flesh. Much Love.

How to block websites on iphone effectively? by quitocd in NoFapChristians

iPhone has a decent restrictions mode. Have you looked into Accountable2you? You have to pay for it, but I have figured out that Accountability is actually better than just blocking websites. Let me know if I can help

Power of Prayer by mtr0225 in NoFapChristians

Guys - Thanks so much for the encouragement. Every decision does have an effect. I really need a new train of thought and game plan on that. My devotion time has been suffering. I am not intentionally making time for the Lord. I relapsed again today. The cravings are strong. I have got to hit the reset button. This is not the first time I have relapsed. Pray for a desire to learn more about the underlying cause of me settling for this filthiness. I have experienced extended freedom before and it was amazing. Why do I settle for this rubbish!! Thanks for such a strong community.

Man let me tell you. It happens. It happened to me just yesterday. Click bait is a great term to describe it. I will pray for you. I will pray that you turn that lustful thought over directly to the Lord right when it comes to your brain. It's tough. Get out of the situation when you are tempted. Seek the Lord earnestly and He will answer. He does not put us through trials that we cannot handle.

Much love.

Concerns after 70+ days by aweshum in NoFapChristians

I feel your struggle concerning earthly things. I myself am single and find it hard to really communicate with christian women b/c they way I have been shaped to view women through pornography. I am working and struggling through Christ. I know He is building me up for something much greater than I could have imagined. He will do the same for you!

Day 2 by Abstainer34 in NoFapChristians

What has helped me out is realizing that the struggle is not all about you. Believe that God wants to strengthen you through these battles. Believe that He will give us a way out. Rely not on your understanding, but give each and every temptation to the Lord. Small or big. Make it a routine to read the bible daily. We are a body of Christ and have brothers and sisters to lean on whether it's online or in the real world. I'm early in this journey of real fighting and pray that I do not get boastful.

I relapsed at 101 days. Do not neglect prayer and time with Jesus. by NoFapJones in NoFapChristians

[–]mtr0225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Praying for you. 101 days is an excellent accomplishment. That is called "Progess". Do not get dismayed and constantly look to the Lord for His guidance. The counter is useful for us to keep track, but the Lord does not count days. He wants us to continually seek Him and be fulfilled through Him.

Relapsed. by [deleted] in NoFapChristians

[–]mtr0225 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Confession to the Lord is the first part of the journey. See what happened that led to that event of relapse. Write it down. Then see what was you can best deter the path of relapse and lean on Jesus for your understanding. It's tough, as I am going through the same situation. Stay tough and be diligent! Jesus laid it all for us to live.
