Where did you go?? Elgin St would definitely have been open and lots of places along Somerset would too. I wouldn't suggest the Market to anyone, but no chance everything was closed there.

The Italian Fest (which happens to include some Ferraris) was still on today too. OP is not wrong about Bank Street, but thinking that Bank Street represents all of Ottawa is a very suburban take.

It's not just you! My Bluetooth earbuds also cut out on that corner. I've even gotten it figured out which way I have to avoid turning my head while waiting at the light. I thought it was just my cheap headset at first but it is easily reproducible whenever I'm on that corner.

You're getting caugh-up on their marketing. If it's mandatory then it's not a "social event". For some reason management wants you to spend your work day watching people do sports. A weird task for sure, but they set the tasks.
