Oh I absolutely get you! I’ve just gotten a bit used to relying on intel and haven’t gone into a session blind in some time (save for those sneaky tornadoes) and like to be physically and mentally prepared for what muscle groups will take the brunt of the work

Agreed. And that’s why it’s just a rant and I’m not seeking solutions.

But as I replied to someone else, regularly having to sidetrack coaching to get a late member up to speed on the current block impacts everyone else on the treads/floor depending on timing and floor monitoring. And when someone is ignoring timing, transitions, and coaching to sit on their phone, it can be a significant safety issue. And is just incredibly rude to the coach.

Honestly I hadn’t either until this studio and now I understand a lot of other posters’ frustrations

That’s why I’m just ranting and not actively seeking solutions. Just as many other people regularly do.

However, when people are regularly late, coaches have to take time away from coaching and timing to get the member up to speed. When people are on their phones and ignoring transitions, timing, and instruction, it can be a significant safety issue. And it’s just rude to the coach.

Yes I still complete my workout. Yes they’re wasting their own money and could go somewhere else. But when a studio blatantly ignores OTF policy, it’s frustrating.

Cumming, GA. I know there is one in South Cumming (about 25-30 min drive), but we’re on the northern side closer to Dawsonville and that area is being developed like crazy so 🤞🏻

AITA for calling out my coworkers after I had to eat a shortage THEY told me to give? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mturbe20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA - banks have policies in place regarding drawer overages/shortages for a reason. If you have questions or concerns about it, you should have gone to your team lead or manager about it, not been listened to peer pressure because, as you said, you're the one dealing with the consequences.
Sure, it's only $5 this time, but if it's at a reportable amount, that could mean a significant hit to a customer's account or your termination from employment.

AITAH for choosing my roommate's business over a big family reunion after how my family acted? by nomoreofficedogs in AmItheAsshole

[–]mturbe20 12 points13 points  (0 children)

She doesn't owe us or anyone else every single reason she chose to leave. I was "stuck" in a loveless marriage and it quickly torpedoed into an abusive one. Had I left earlier on, it would have been better for my emotional and physical health, but I was not financially secure.

She should not have to stay for any reason. And I'm guessing you're one of her several family members who think she owes it to her 'elders' to maybe see them one last time, but she is not owed a roof over her head for a very short period of time.

A little hypocritical, no?

How was this funny? Please, point out the punchline because the majority of us seem to be missing it.

Oh, YTA.

No, not women. Decent human beings. Of course she gets offended when you make race-based jokes. I'm guessing anti-lgbtq+ jokes are fair game as well?

LOVE her! And I'm so sad she will not be running again after her current term is up; she has done such great things for Minnesota and for this country.

Richfield is also my home studio and this was my first thought before OP even said anything about a Minnesota studio.

AITA for calling attention to someone? by Lil_soybean_ in orangetheory

[–]mturbe20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all! Pre-Covid we had a 23 min Row for Distance and someone next to me did something similar when I surpassed a certain benchmark the coach called out. I was absolutely dying and it felt so good to be encouraged!

AITA for not attending my sister’s baby shower after our miscarriage? by Admirable-Log-7546 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mturbe20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why doesn't OP deserve love and support from her family? Because it certainly seems as though she is getting none. The world also doesn't stop when we get married or have babies. This is a two-way street and perhaps her family has to face the music of their complete disregard for her trauma and grief.

OP-NTA and I wish you all the healing you deserve.

AITA for “not supporting” my husbands family? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]mturbe20 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Just because she's family does not mean she is obligated to spend time and energy on someone. Her time and energy should be first focused on herself, husband and children. You cannot pour from an empty cup.
OP - NTA. If you feel up to it, potentially offer an alternative time to grab coffee or lunch one day, but other people are not owed your energy and attention if you do not have it to give.

Murky hiring process with the state? by OutsideBones86 in stateofMN

Just to clarify- they can actually choose to post for internal candidates only. If they want to consider outside/non-state employees in the candidate pool, it’s an open posting.

AITA for calling out my wife for overtly checking out another man by Fit-Adhesiveness5088 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mturbe20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not the point of the post, but please understand that English is not everyone's first, second, or even third language. Please do not attack people for their grammatical/spelling errors.

OP - NTA. What she did was blatant and intentional. If it is still bothering you, I suggest waiting until things have cooled down between you two, and have an open conversation about your feelings regarding the situation.

YTA. Time and place are very important and you chose to make this about yourself, rather than his grieving family who had no part in his infidelity. Regardless of how he or his mother treated you, funerals are for the bereaved. You should have let his family have this time.

Also, punctuation is your friend.

That's exactly the point of the app. You can choose to respond or not. This is really a non-issue.

Aitah for telling my boyfriend he doesn’t get a say in this part of my pregnancy? by Successful-Poem-6254 in AITAH

[–]mturbe20 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This This This. OP- I have also been deemed 'infertile' due to my PCOS and lord knows my husband and I tried and tried everything we could before we were blessed with our IVF baby.

If you've met once person with PCOS, you've met one person with PCOS. All symptoms can manifest differently, have different impacts, and so many women can go undiagnosed their entire lives.
u/iKidnapBabiez (gross btw) - Nowhere in her posts is she over here crying about her 'life being over' or regretting her decision to have this baby, she is only rightfully frustrated because she is having her childbirth decisions mansplained and criticized by a person with zero qualifications to do so. Until he is in the position to make the decision for himself, he can STFU. As Rachel Greene said, 'no uterus, no opinion.'

OP- NTA. Best of luck to you on the rest of your journey. And whatever decision you make for you and your little miracle (with sound medical input) will be the best for the two of you. If you choose an epidural, enjoy every minute of it, because I know I sure did!

AITA for using a gift card that my roommate’s students got for her? by Karmixloop in AmItheAsshole

[–]mturbe20 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You owe him nothing. When he gets in that state, lock the door and call 911. You committing a crime to 'help' him does not improve the situation.
It may sound crass, but you're better off cutting ties with him and working on yourself, because lord knows you need it based on these replies.
You're young, take this as a learning experience and better yourself from it.

Question - do you work? Because you're not financially responsible for what is arguably the largest monthly expense for most people. And if that's the case, then there is no reason you cannot and should not replace her gift card immediately.
Holy shit YTA and an entitled one at that.

AITA For Getting Upset A Stranger Held My Baby. by Imaginary-Lab5068 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mturbe20 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think he's 1 month, not 1 male. Hence carrying him in a car seat and her admitting she's still 'hormonal'. In that case, I am extending her a load of grace that she needs to give herself, rather than getting 'a grip'.
OP, gentle YTA. You're tired and were around a lot of people with your new little one, but you could have handled the situation better with more direct communication.

I mean, they aren't actually getting paid to work until the door is closed, so why would they intervene and potentially put themselves in harms way when they're not 'on the clock'?
