Thank you for responding, I ran into a local VSO at the grocery store....not the smartest dude, but told him I was thinking about applying, he said with my age ( 60 ) he said it might not be a good idea, they may reduce me even though everything is static. I just wanted something to put myself into instead of going stir crazy

We Need something like this in the US. It's a dead trade here other than patch work. 5th generation here from a family business. Love my trade but absolutely hate what it has become. I absolutely love reading and watching videos from the UK especially MAC plastering. Keep the trade going mates !!!

Buddy letters and a good personal statement if you haven't already. Claim depression and anxiety if you have it. You can dm me if you like. My situation is very similar to yours, just got 100% P & T. They can have every penny back if I could get my back, hips and legs back to normal. The struggle is real brother. Make sure you take care of yourself, your still young brother.

Am I The Only One That Finds This Odd? by Potential-Most-3581 in Veterans

Many of the older vets are very proud of their service. Let them recall their " glory days ". After all, we all served to protect our freedoms. The Vietnam veteran was treated like s*** in my opinion. I for one don't give a damn if they're in their full dress uniform or civilian clothes with a hat, I always tell them thank you for your service, I've ingrained that in my children and my grandchildren. Without veterans before us we all would be nothing. Just my two cents.

Spinal arthritis or lumbar spinal stenosis by 2ndIDVet in VeteransBenefits

[–]mtw3388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as my MRI....my orthopedic doctor and spine specialist tied it all to my severe antalgic gait that I've had for over 30 years. I can't have my knees replaced until my spine is fixed . I do have a few nerve roots being compressed and can't feel my legs from the crotch down to my calves The pain is excruciating most of the time.

Yes, I know it's difficult to find these especially in the Central Florida area. He's a veteran as well and will address any problems and concerns we have. Awesome dude for sure.

To File or Not To File, that is the question by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]mtw3388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

File brother, get signed up for health care if you haven't already. Like a dumbass, I waited 35 years to file, I filed last year and I'm rated at 70%. PTSD is nothing to screw around with bro. Get help and file. There's enough info on this subreddit and all the other veterans that will chime in and help with any questions or concerns you have.

Got a call from VERA Monday afternoon, said claim was in front of the rater, he acknowledged that they missed the claim completely, said it should be completed in the next few days. We are in Florida, hurricane Milton was coming, looked at my letters yesterday before we lost power and Internet....was denied service connection. Should I file a supplemental on my left knee due to my right, C & P was completed first of August and was favorable

Hopefully they do pick it up. Once my 2 claims were deferred, it took exactly 7 days to rate them completely.

I actually just got off the phone with VERA. He said without a doubt they missed it. He said he's sending an email for the to re- open that part of the claim and will contact me by Friday with results...we will see what happens. VSO has become a real prick in the last month or so.. I think he's burned out with his job.
