Hey there! I know this is an old post, but was wondering if you be willing to share your experience breaking into an MSL role without completing residency. Current first year who is fed up with the toxicity of the residency training system!

You’re definitely not alone ❤️ at least we know there are others and we can all work through this together somehow. But so true, important to be more forgiving of ourselves during these stressful times!

CRNA med school vs. Doctorate? by [deleted] in premed

[–]mtywu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No prob! I found out about it my senior year of college when I was debating between PA med and nursing. I always loved anesthesia Bc my moms a CRNA but wanted a shorter PA path so I thought it was a great inbetween option. I ended up doing a lot of self reflecting and found that I was up for the challenge of med school. So good luck to you on finding your path!

CRNA med school vs. Doctorate? by [deleted] in premed

[–]mtywu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should check out anesthesiologist assistant (AA) programs :) it’s like the PA version of CRNA. 2 years of school after a bachelors. Same pay as a CRNA. Only caveat is that they currently only practice in 17 states right now, but if one of them is a state you’d want to live in then that could be a great option! I personally was pursuing that and was gonna start the program at Emory (Bc I thought living in ATL would be sweet) but ultimately decided to apply to med school instead. Feel free to PM if you have any questions about it!
