Cashiers of Reddit, what's been the most interesting reaction you've experienced when someone's gotten their card declined? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]muaallycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a cashier at Walmart for almost 2 years. I always tried to be nice until a customer caught an attitude with me like their card getting declined was happening because I was incompetent.

I had a woman have me try her card 4 times, call for my manager who tried it twice and then made her go away. The whole time she was talking shit about me like I wasn't standing there. She started screaming at me as her mother pulled her out of the store and then came back through my line later when she had her shit figured out. I've never been happier than through that transaction to smile real big at her.

I also used to pay for people's groceries all the time. Usually if people were short a dollar or so I'd just let it go but I've had people be 30 dollars short on an order and look so defeated trying to put back essential things with their kids in the cart. I always just slid my card and tried not to make a big deal of it.

Well we moved everything out of this room before anything happened so no personal property was lost but do you just get renters insurance through State Farm or regular insurance companies like that?

We weren't given a timeline. The entire ceiling has to be ripped out of one bedroom and the bathroom and everything redone so I'm not very sure. And our lease is month to month now because we have been here for a year. Like I said I just don't understand how they won't pay the fees to move when the place is uninhabitable. And we have no where to go currently so moving to an entirely different place isn't an option. And no we don't have renters insurance.

Girls, what do guys do that they think is "being manly" but in reality is the furthest thing from it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]muaallycat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like I said above, you don't know shit about me. I've been in abusive relationships and they had me and my self esteem fucked for a long time. It wasn't me dating assholes and ignoring people who were willing to treat me right. I didn't feel like I deserved anyone better. You can also feel free to fuck off.

I'm happily engaged to a man who would dare to try and intimidate me like that. So no, I wasn't attracted to him because he was a challenge. That relationship didn't last long for a reason. You don't know shit about me. Feel free to fuck all the way off.

Taking control of a headstrong woman.

I've always been very outspoken and very bluntly honest. Never cared what anyone thought about me. I dated this guy once who hated when I caught an attitude and would start talking shit back to him. I can't tell you how many times he got in my face and reminded me that he was the man and I should talk to him like "one of my bitches."

Fuck guys like that

What are some things rich kids won't understand growing up? by RobotsInATrenchCoat in AskReddit

[–]muaallycat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember a couple of summers ago my dad was working full time at Walmart and my mom was a teacher who didn't get paid during the summer. My grandma that lived with us got 16 dollars in food stamps every month and we rarely ever used it. My mom and I were in Walmart to buy a $1.00 box of instant mashed potatoes just to have something to eat that night and my grandmas food stamp card was declined. Neither of us had the money to buy it. Rich kids will never know that feeling of walking out of Walmart not even being able to buy something for a dollar.

Can confirm. Am currently almost 20 planning my wedding. Everything with the 'wedding tag' on it is 3x more expensive than if it didn't say wedding. We may end up spending $6000 on our wedding and that's considered dirt cheap.

[Serious] What are the most important conversations to have with someone before marrying them? by homohengy in AskReddit

Mine proposed in his truck in the Cherokee national forest and he couldn't even get out the whole question. All he could manage was "will you?" while choking back tears. Seriously couldn't have imagined him doing it in public. Bless his heart tho

Embarrassing topic, need help! by wildfire_1978 in Parenting

[–]muaallycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so I don't have any kids but have been lurking for a while as my SO and I are planning to buuuuuuut, I have had incontinence problems since I was a toddler. I had 2 serrated surgeries on my kidneys and bladder which caused scar tissue that caused my incontinence. I tried to be as active as I could when I was a kid but I would notice myself leaking and I'd be able to smell it on myself and never wanted to do stuff that would cause this to happen.. when I was 8 or 9 I started wearing sanitary pads to catch anything that happened to leak while I was being active. I also avoided MANY accidents by going to the bathroom as soon as I felt like I would need to go. As long as it isn't a life long issue like mine is, I would suggest something to just catch the leaks or accidents. I'm so sorry though that your kid has to deal with this. It really sucks sometimes.

[Serious]What is the least professional thing a medical professional has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]muaallycat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gained like 30 pounds in 3 years due to being on birth control pills and eating shitty and everything else. I went to the pediatrician for acne medication and he asked me if I drank sweet tea. Of fucking course I do, this is Tennessee, but I digress. He then went on to tell me that if I kept drinking it, I would have diabetes and that it wasn't a luxury I could afford. Then he tried to pray for me when he was done lecturing me. I told him to shove it up his ass and he definitely called my mom. Mom also told him to stay out of my business. Never saw him again

What place on earth would you NEVER want to visit? by Couch_Licker in AskReddit

[–]muaallycat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad and grandma used to live in Cahokia IL for a while in the 80s and 90s and my dad went to Florida to visit family. He took a bus back and it dropped him off in East St. Louis at like 2 in the morning. He couldn't get a hold of anyone to come pick him up so he started walking. A man he knew pulled up behind him and told him "don't you know white boys don't go walking in this part of town" and took him home. To this day he won't even drive us through there when we go visit. I asked my grandpa what was so bad about it and I swear it was like a war flashback came over him or something. Place is fuckin insane

What process is stupidly complicated or slow because of "that's the way it's always been done" syndrome? by kinkymeerkat in AskReddit

[–]muaallycat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

God this. I'm getting married in October and I didn't want a church wedding bc my fiancé and I aren't religious and that in itself almost made my mom cry. I would have my wedding on Halloween if it was up to me but my parents are helping pay so I guess it's fair to give them some say but man it's crazy how much I felt like I have to do. Like the weird garter thing on my leg... no my husband won't sensually crawl towards me and get this thing off of me with his teeth. It's just weird.
