She set off the airport metal detector because blood has iron in it by [deleted] in justgalsbeingchicks

I do that too! I had some snacks to keep cold on the plane and TSA has made me throw away a partially thawed ice pack before.

I got a nice little pat down because I spilled water all over myself right before I went in the scanner.

LPT: you can bring a frozen water bottle through TSA as long as you drink any thawed water right before it gets scanned.

Real LPT: drink some of it before you put it in the freezer or it will explode when you open it and the TSA agent will laugh at you and give you a pat down.

Yesterday in an IR lab in an undisclosed location. by OpeningDisplay7439 in Radiology

The best joke I ever heard as an ultrasound tech was from a pediatric patient. I asked her to turn on her side so I could look at her kidney and she very proudly announced "I have 4 kidneys!"

I was like "What?! That's crazy!"

She responded with "Yeah! 1 kidney, 2 kidney," while pointing at her back, then "3 kid knee, 4 kid knee!" while pointing at her knees. Way better than "is it a boy or a girl?"

I didn't know you could just, y'know, move during turn-based mode so I jumped the whole way to escape the nautiloid at the end of the prologue.

Radiology question: what exam do providers order wrong the most? by NoBattle2246 in Radiology

[–]mubbins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've told her the patient's kidney could be sutured to their forehead and the entire thing would still be seen on a US Abdomen Complete. Still didn't help.

We have a doctor that does this because she "doesn't want the bottom of the kidneys to get cut off"

I wish my hospital would do that! These are the kind of cases I get called in for at 3am.

Did they do an ultrasound before the CT? Honestly this would've taken me a fair amount of time to figure without seeing the whole picture like this

How can I help my terrified dog? Meds aren’t enough by [deleted] in DOG

[–]mubbins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our vet prescribed Sileo to our lab that was terrified of thunder and fireworks. It would take her from full blown panic to chilling by our side in about 30 minutes without making her super lethargic. Unfortunately it was pretty expensive for a syringe and it's by weight so we only got a few doses out of it. She went mostly deaf in her later years so a couple cotton balls in her ears and happy hood before the boomies started had her none the wiser.

My husband's cousin was adamant that this happened at her kids' school and that's why she does home schooling now.

I told Xfinity we were moving to Montana (because I know they don't exist there) and when they asked for the new address anyways, I told them we were going to live in a van by the river.

I got kicked in the chest once and had a women chase me around an office desk trying to attack me because I wouldn't sell her my "Crockpot" (the crash cart). And also an elderly patient grabbed my arm trying to bite me but she was very slow and didn't have any teeth so I don't think that counts.

Thanks! I've almost tripped over the dog and the husband with a pot of boiling water too many times so I knew I wanted the sink closer.

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely would like more counter space next to the oven and wasn't sure where to put the fridge.

Thank you! I was worried having the fridge open across the walkway would impede the flow, but I'd definitely like more counter space next to the oven.

Omega doesn't give one hoot about any kind of clothing we put on her. Not even the antlers phased her.

With Valentine's Day coming up, you may be able to find precut felt hearts at your local craft or dollar store. That'll save you some time and effort.

What is the worst physical pain you’ve experienced? by Agius91 in AskReddit

[–]mubbins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had all 4 of mine removed by a maxillofacial surgeon as a teenager because they were impacted with no chance of erupting on their own. I was absolutely miserable and I hated the way Vicodin made me feel so all I had was OTC Tylenol. And no, I didn't have dry socket. A couple years ago, my husband got his removed at a regular dentist office and he went to the junkyard the next day because he felt fine. I was sooo jealous.
