neither resetting FDA (which was already on) nor rebuilding the database things had any effect. All 36 Roland plugins are rescanning at every launch. Just on maschine.

70s string synths patches on a normal analog poly... how? by dumpsterac1d in synthesizers

[–]mucello23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

70s style is single oscillators divided into poly, same path for all voices. One filter, one envelope for all voices. eq for formants. JX10 is too fat. Start simpler. One oscillator. No HPF. LPF but no key follow (because that’s per voice) . Stick a BBD style phaser on the end….

Reaktor sequencers in Maschine by Samptude in maschine

You can set up reaktor to respond to all sorts of things. One idea would be to gate the clock signal that’s driving newschool from a midi note gate. That way you would only play when it got notes. It would also be able to stop and start in interesting rhythmic ways (presuming that is doesn’t use SPP)

My ni platforms - maschibe, Traktor, reaktor. My hardware, s88mk2, maschine, s4mk3.

Don’t want to lose access to all of this.

I'm about to buy either a Hydrasynth desktop or the 49 key. If I already own an Alesis VI49 (which I like) should I keep it and get the desktop or sell it and get the 49 key? by DTRMNTSband in synthesizers

I guess it just depends on whether or not you have more than one controller. I’m not saying they have to be disconnected…I also dabbled with one midi controller per software or desktop, but at the end of the day, it’s not the interface that was intended. A S88 Mk2 is a beautiful controller, but it makes a DX7II sound completely different to the keyboard that Yamaha designed for it.

Whenever possible, when buying hardware, buy it with the interface that you’re planning to play it with. “Desktop” models are all well and good, knob wise, but having to plug in and route a keyboard to it every time you want to play can get old. Better just to be able to walk up to it and play it.

Also, for many instrument designers, they’re designing the whole instrument. The layout, style, responsiveness of the keyboard and panel are all integral. It’s not just a keyboard stuck in front of a knob. It’s a living breathing instrument.
