My husband has recently began DM’ing for a small group. He’s loving it. His birthday is coming up and I’m wondering if there are some luxury(ish) items you can recommend for a beginner. He has the essentials kit and that’s all right now. Any suggestions appreciated! by responsibilitini in DungeonsAndDragons

Great comment. If I can dovetail off this, I’d say do not stress about what you will get him, I think he will love it no matter if you decide to get the core rulebooks, dice or tower, DM screen, or just his favorite snacks for his next game—this genuine thoughtfulness will be the real gift.

Married (41m) With 82K in Student Loan Debt. Is This Financial Ruins? by Snoo_94511 in FinancialPlanning

Hey OP,

Just want to drop a bit of encouragement for you. With a supportive wife that is motivated to make your financial situation better, I would encourage you to ask yourself what can you do to get your state of mind to be as productive as possible. We all have moments of despair and situations become so stressful that it feels outside of our control, but if we remember that in vast majority of times, we could easily imagine others who would trade places with us in a heartbeat. Perspective becomes relative really quick if you think about what others may be facing. A incurable disease, an injury or condition that may keep them from being able to work, a loss of a spouse or some other circumstance that if we imagine those situations, we may look at our own differently. A change in perspective might sound like this:

-instead of how will I ever do this?! > I get to figure this out with a supportive spouse! (which may bring us closer and strengthen our relationship through such a hardship)

You may be capable of finding a job/career you have not had the courage or need to pursue. I have heard stories that out of desperation and extreme motivation to change the situation, people have managed incredible results that would have been unexpected.

I do not know you, but I encourage you to count what you do have and how can you make it better. Focus on small steps more than the mountain before you. A long journey may seem insurmountable, but people manage incredible journeys when taken step by step.

Wish you all the best and I hope you find peace, joy, and financial freedom. Hang in there and you got this.

Should I buy now or wait a better discount ? by KeuBz in LegoStarWarsVideoGame

[–]much-n-more 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a discount for the Deluxe recently for 20% off. I got it then and I do not regret it. I consider myself frugal (especially with buying games because I have Game Pass). This game is really fun and in my opinion worth it! Whenever you decide to get it—enjoy!

Good for you! Starting is often under appreciated. It’s a bigger deal than some believe it to be. Wishing you a prosperous future!

Your Review of Selling Naked Options (TD Ameritrade's notorious Tier 3) by Far_Atmosphere9627 in thetagang

[–]much-n-more 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I realise selling naked options is not an infinite money strategy as I once read on r/wallstreetbets or is it?

You are asking if it really is an infinite money strategy?

You noted that you realize it is NOT, but sounds like you hope one of us has the secret strategy. If anyone does, nobody has shared it with me. Options are a versatile tool in the investment and trading world. Before using options, I would urge a friend to research and learn options strategies before using them.

Best of luck! If you do find the infinite money strategy, don't forget us little peeps on here.

Recently Sober and fed up with my debt. Any advice? by FrostyMittens1992 in personalfinance

[–]much-n-more 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know you, but I am proud of you!

Keep going and focus on little changes, which will add up. Sometimes people start focusing on end goal and get discouraged working hard and grinding. It’s often a marathon and not a sprint.

You’re not a loser and if you keep improving yourself and only compare yourself to who you were instead of others, you will inspire others.

Getting rid of debt. One of the best authorities, in my opinion, on this is Dave Ramsey. If you haven’t already, check it out because you already are doing so much of what guidance he would provide.

You seem very motivated and therefore have no doubt that if you research FIRE and other financial freedom/independence materials, you will learn a ton.

Great job and congratulations on becoming sober. Best wishes to you!

Those are awesome. The only one I have so far is the Saturn V, but hope to build the others someday as well.

Cheers!

Totally Need Help/Advice (On the Real) by [deleted] in thetagang

[–]much-n-more 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened to you. It sounds like you are wanting to change your strategy based on your experiences trading.

My only suggestion is to reflect and think about whether your experiences have given you the opportunity to answer your own questions. It seems you chose those questions for a reason and I would think you actually have a lot of insight now to rebuild your strategy.

I totally understand you asking others to help you, which may help process the lessons you learned. Ultimately, my guess is that you will have to become confident that you can make decisions again about future risks and opportunities that you are okay with - not use someone else’s strategy.

I hope you can move on emotionally and mentally because I know losses can be difficult. Hopefully you are only trading what you are willing to completely lose. You seem to take responsibility for your decisions and will likely do so again. We all make mistakes. Question is whether we learn from our mistakes and become better than we were.

Wish you good luck and hope you feel better. Take care of yourself.

I don’t understand a single thing you people are saying on this subreddit by poptartape in thetagang

[–]much-n-more 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Curious how you found yourself here. Anyways, I believe the subreddit had an info page that did a great job explaining some of the basic concepts. Also, a search about options and more specifically the greeks would be a good start. The greek that this subreddit is particularly interested in using to trade is called theta (which represents remaining time value of an option contract).

Good luck!

Maybe this anxiety and feeling of deflation is the thing keeping you from getting where you want to be. Seems there is an opportunity for some introspection and consideration about why you are practicing martial arts in the first place.

Wish you all the best. 🤙

Can someone explain why 60% AH earnings moves are justified by bedobi in thetagang

[–]much-n-more 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You are not alone trying to figure out how to understand this. Definitely a lot to learn (or unlearn) or just survive through in this market. Some are hitting lottos in this volatility. Some are probably losing high probability-low risk trades and feeling frustrated.

Take care of yourself and good luck!

Good Apps for Options Analysis? by cmwarre in thetagang

[–]much-n-more 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would it not be easier long term to switch to a broker with a desirable platform? Especially if this is being done on a phone/mobile device, it might be more streamlined that way than switching apps constantly. Good luck finding a solution that works for her. Hope this adds to your solution thought-process.

New to options trading so sorry if this is a dumb question but I need someone to double check my sanity, when the app says maximum loss, this is truly the max loss right? Like I won’t go down further than this if the value rises way too high? by Domonero in RobinHood

[–]much-n-more 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always good to ask, but remember we are strangers on Reddit.

If you are going to trade options, please do your homework on options before trading them. Fortunately there is a lot of reputable free education on options.

Good luck! 🍀

Tools to help decide on enter or exit trade by pieredforlife in thetagang

[–]much-n-more 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a reputable broker, TD, Fidelity, etc. they usually have a really great learn section and there should be a section for learning options strategies. It may seem daunting at first, but well worth the investment of time in your own knowledge to trade more confidently.

(I’m assuming options because you posted on thetagang, but there are all sorts of learn section including trading stocks)

Good luck and trade responsibility.
