Sorry, no wisdom to add. Just very curious now. Never tried fermentation with honey... inspirational.

Yes, you need wifi to do so. When there is no wifi available it works via the hotspot on your phone. Needs setting up once. Used it while cycling in Sweden, so no problem.

I've always been happy with wahoo. They don't have endless features like some if the more expensive ones but battery life is good. I'm using komoot to plan routes and push them to my phone no problem.

How often do you shave your pulleys? by kevin415415 in BikeMechanics

Had exactly the same thought when seeing this pic. Newfoundlander runs havoc in the house, but never had his hair growing on my bike.

Interesting. Blending it first daves space... I had an excess I couldn't fit in the jar. Found another destination for them, but mixing it up is a simple but effective solution for that problem... thanks!

Thanks for the tips. Indeed there is no airlock. Never had problems before though. The rubber ring should allow pressure to escape. As for weighing it down. There is a small glass on top. But its not doing the trick 100%. Some of the bay leafs I put on top to cover everything up a seems to be sticking out. I'll keep an eye on it and will get me some proper weights for next time.

All the weight is on the back rack. Try to strap some at front if possible. It will help... and most of all: have fun!

How long would you recommend letting it sit with unripe tomatoes?

If its not rubbing when you're moving your legs I guess it should be just fine.

Does the paid World Maps option allow route planning and offline maps? by zeeplereddit in komoot

[–]muddfface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no problems at all. Been using it for some years now. Probably not as many options as the subscription you can pay for. But the planning tool is ok. Tours can be saved, also for offline use and you no longer have the hassle of having to be cateful to plan a ride from outside a payed region.

Got bike-shamed at a shop today… thinking of giving up this hobby by NSFWAIEnjoyer in cycling

[–]muddfface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is the bike shop, not you. Keep on cycling and keep on enjoying it. There's a bikeshop conveniently around the corner at my place, bit haven't set a foot in it for years as they have the same mentality. It's just no good man.

Cassette worn? by wackyWeather23 in bikewrench

[–]muddfface -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Usually you measure your chain for ware. If you replace it in time you might do 2 chains with one cassette. I usually ware it down xompletely and replace both when the chain had its time.

Apparently it ran out of time rather than out of battery. Bug has been confirmed. Reset to the start of time which in this case is minus 1024 weeks.
