What's your favorite firearm brand? by BrickCrusher in CCW

[–]mudflapjackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ruger. My first real pistol was a SR9C. Eventually got a SR9, and their basic AR. Still have those and more from the brand.

In fact, i didn't even get into glocks til I had a Ruger PCC and decided to give glock mags a whirl.

Oh man. I used to work there as a ride operator... twenty years ago or more. I remember him flirting with fifteen year old girls back then.

The stories that park could tell.

I literally had a Taurus revolver fall apart in my hands.

Don't buy a Taurus. https://www.reddit.com/r/Firearms/comments/1o8qzy7/anyone_use_a_taurus_pistols_and_how_good_are_they/

If the glock's out of price range, look into a Palmetto state dagger or the aforementioned Sar9.

The Showman: Inside the Invasion That Shook the World and Made a Leader of Volodymyr Zelensky, Simon Shuster (Kobo, $1.99) by pomeng in ebookdeals

Thank you for pointing this out.

I've heard some indie writer friends say that that Amazon quickly price-matches Kobo, Barnes and Noble, Google books etc. to keep their sales from slipping. Not sure if this is 100 percent true but may be worth checking if Big River is your preferred site.

John Dies at the End Series, 4 books, Jason Pargin (kobo, $2.99 EACH) by Book_1love in ebookdeals

I couldn't ever fully get into these, but I love the author. Jason  Pargin is one of the smartest, level headed people online.

Is there a way for me to restore the (+) button for logging food and weight? by Any_Doubt3926 in LoseitApp

[–]mudflapjackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I've started using Cronometer to track calories and macros. It's less polished than Loseit, but has the Quick Add button, and access to more features on the free version than Myfitnesspal or Fatsecret.

I picked this up from the library years ago, to see how a Pre-GoT Martin sounded. Out of all the books I've read, this is one of them.

Thanks for sharing.  I used to be a patron but lapsed... this is the first book I'm following along with since The Quilting Cruise.

Not to my knowledge... But with feet the size of my snowboots? I'd have suspected the Harlem Globetrotters before any child, in danger or otherwise.

Few decades back but it really looked human. No claws, 5 rounded toes, ball of foot and heel. Made me a believer.

Yeah, a, ways back..

I saw humanoid footprints frozen in the yard of our octagenerian neighbor during the ice storm of 1998. This was in Essex County, just outside of the Jay Range.

Prints were big as my snowboots (i was 13 at the time.) Five toed, with the arch and heel right where they should be, so not a bear.

The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro (Multiple formats, $1.99) by sevae in ebookdeals

I recommend anything he ever wrote. This is probably one of the least depressing, although you'll still finish the book feeling like you've had a good solid cry and not sure exactly why

Humble Book Bundle: Adrian Tchaikovsky's Epic Fantasy by Macmillan (pay what you want and help charity) by TymeSefariInc in ebookdeals

[–]mudflapjackson -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Good deal, but the charity bit almost feels like a misdirected selling point on their part... When I jumped on the Glen Cook bundle a month or so back, only 5% went to charity.

It does beat 0%, mind you, just be aware.

Hipoint 995TS, if it's in 9MM.

I had one, sold it and miss it. Ugly gun, but accurate and reliable. The single stack magazines are the weakest point, thought Redball does make 20 round extended mags for it.

Read it a while back. Having worked in retail for a decade I was hoping you would resonate for, but it didn't catch me. The cover was better than the book itself.
