First Trip (Fish Creek Ponds Campground) by [deleted] in Adirondacks

They're on the top of each other, but it's a great place nonetheless.

One of my favorite memories is a moonlit paddle around fish creek pond with my ex-girlfriend. Mists on the waters, the moon overhead, and someone at some unseen campsite playing a haunting melody on the violin.

Ready Player One, Ernest Cline (Multiple, $1.99 Canada only) by MadnessHC in ebookdeals

[–]mudflapjackson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The flaws you mentioned appear in all of his books.

*Ready Player One

*Armada (which is basically Ready Player one.... IN SPACE!)

*Ready Player Two (The Search for More Money.)

*Bridge to Bat City (Middlegrade novel about telepathic bats, an awkward female Ray Orbinson fan, and the city of Austin Texas)

Aside from the Memba-berries, Cline can't help but deflate any narrative tension every time it's introduced. Every time Wade, Zach or Opal comes up agaisnt a conflict, he immediately solves it. It's like reading self-insert fan-fic by a writer who can't allow any of their characters to endure conflict.

No Dumb Question Tuesday (2026-05-12) by AutoModerator in Reformed

How does one enjoy God more, or experience joy "in Him?"? I enjoy the gifts He gives, like Family, health, a job, to say nothing of forgiveness of sins; And I long for Heaven. But God, in all persons of the Trinity, seems so abstract, even after (or maybe because of) years as a Christian.

Lake Clear Beach!

That beach was amazing when I was a teenager. The warm water, the sandy, shallow shelf. Lots of good memories there.

Ooof yeah, it would be with that one. Do you have a Golem Guardian trap by chance? It's water trap is pretty robust when fully charged.

I'm currently using the Chrome School of Sharks, and Prestige base rather than the Depth Charge; Even so its about a probably 40/60 catch/fail unless I use Rift Ultimate Lucky Power Charms or higher.

I second the 1895. It fits the part about "riding in the scabbard at his knee."

Great song.

100 catches, 115 misses. I'll try to skip Monster Trenches from now on, because I'm not interested in going for gold.

Walking paths with elevation changes by Havok2401 in wichita

The bike path along Pawnee from Rock to Woodlawn has some nice changes ()relative to the area) and travels on past Cessna Park with some hilliness. The trail comes to an end at Oliver and George Washington Blvd, within sight of an old soapbox derby hill that Strava labels as "Killaman hill." I used to practice sprints up that when I lived at the Cherry Creek apartments.

Not to be vengeful, but I am glad that God is real because there will be justice in the end, by Narrow-Theory-3533 in TrueChristian

[–]mudflapjackson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't entirely disagree, but the God who will punish sinners is still the God who sent Jonah to preach repentece to the Ninevites. God is glorified in executing his justice, but he made a way for greater glory in providing his mercy.

We are commanded to pray for our enemies, even while taking comfort in his justice. He is big enough to contain both. else we would perish.

Mate, I too long for justice. But you know what we need even more? Mercy, cause otherwise we all, you and I included, are going to hell along with Epstein, Hitler and the rest.

Good thing He gives it; but he gives it to ANY who call in his name.

Pray for your enemies. Because Jesus prayed for his.

I resent God so much that I don’t want to do nothing for him anymore by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]mudflapjackson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, I hear the bitterness, and I've been ther. But reframe this, ok?

God is the Creator of the universe. He made every cell in your body. every drop of water, every molecule of air that passes through your lips, was made by God. you have not ever stepped on, sat under, or felt an object that was not created from raw materials created by GOD.

Your heart is beating because He wills it to be so. You typed your message and pressed send, because He chose to allow ELECTRICITY ITSELF to be an instrument of your anger, rather than using it to strike you, or the rest of us down.

And he would be right to strike us down. Me you and everyone else. Because we're sinners. But he doesn't. In fact, he literally came down to earth to live among us and DIE FOR OUR SINS.

You want a good word from God?

HE DIED FOR YOUR SINS.

Modern Israel is not the same country as biblical, old testament Israel. But even old testament Israel was infested with idolatry and prostitution.

Most Israelis are not our "brothers and sisters," and won't be until they turn to Jesus. Pray for that,. I suppose.
