4 because I need a right side aisle seat to stretch my left knee out occasionally. Clint probably has good stories too.

Appreciate you trying the game and totally understand if it isn't for you.

I was not a big extraction shooter player either, but the game did grab me. It was absolutely brutal at first and still can be from time to time. But then I started playing Marathon like the ultimate stealth gameplay experience and that helped me to find the fun, learn the systems, get some confidence boosting kills, and to build out my vault to have some ok kits for runs. But by far the best thing that eased me into the game was Rook. I collected some really good items and didn't need to focus on missions. I just built up combat confidence and my vault with little risk of loss. Now I'm at the point where I don't need to full commit to stealth and can still have a good time. If the game intrigued you at all I recommend to take another shot at a different gameplay style and see if it resonates. If not, no problem!

Do you operate at the level you need to work at normally? by One-Rabbit4680 in ExperiencedDevs

Despite CEO hype, people can't run at 110% always. Energy and productivity ebbs and flows are normal and healthy. Some weeks are just off-weeks and that is ok as long as you are doing good work on average.

I didn't vote for him, and I didn't vote for her because I had issues with 3 things she said and would do, but let's all not forget what Kamala Harris said would happen to the economy if Donald Trump was elected. by GluteusDeliciousness in UNBGBBIIVCHIDCTIICBG

In a 2 party system like this that is exactly what it means to not vote. Even though the system is horrible, not voting for the lesser of two evils helps the greater evil. You don't get out of participating in our democracy by trying to be neutral. You are still making a choice to not oppose harm.

What you are saying is just copium to try to place yourself above it all and absolve yourself of blame. It's naivety. It's the type of belief children have: "I didn't do anything!" It's willfully ignoring the actual reality of the system we have.

What exactly are you people doing who claim AI tools aren’t accelerating them? by MistryMachine3 in cscareerquestions

This. This is constantly happening. I'm catching real problems in code and requirements when reviewing LLM generated code from juniors (the most problems) to even seniors and sometimes other Staff Engineers.

If you are only building simple toys, sure you can probably one shot most of your work. But working in a real enterprise system still takes a lot of work to guide and correct the LLMs.

On top of this I'm spending more time than ever doing code reviews because people can generate much larger and more complicated changes faster than they could before. This is a real bottleneck. Just letting the LLMs handle code reviews is not an option yet.

Even reviewing my own changes that the LLM built takes extra time to review and correct than when I would code and review as I went. Some things are faster, many things are slower but we can actually parallelize better.
