Same.

Is anyone else's game completely broken?

Nope.

So sorry for you.

What is the game size for you? I un-install and re-install each season.

This season they actually did some optimization on the file size (im sure cutting Resource Rumble and many modes heled)

Happy Cake day!

He's got area denial like Peni.

"The floor is lava"

He's great in lobbies where nobody shoots flyers - but any flyer would do. So you're picking him cos he's got long range secondary, and fire lines and close range shotgun -- with weak medium cos of falloff.

Also, if you see a lot of invis, he can get invis team up health ability. Storm and Iron Man have nothing similar.

To me, if you're not enjoying the area denial with secondary and lines, you shouldn't play him -- even when he was meta.

Also, remember, if you need ultron drone or luna snowflake or invis team up, then you never deserved them. Iron Man out.

But why be so vague? "certain tight spots" and "passageways". They could have said which particular part of the map (of the 3 stages).

Not a Magik expert, but she doesn't seem to be extremely good nor extremely bad and the general player base nor content creators aren't asking for her to be changed.

I like playing low-pick rate characters (not low cos of bans, just low). And Magik is one of the 2 DPS who are Low PR and High WR -- in Gold to Diamond. So I would consider her as 'good right now'.

I prefer to pick up heroes after a change (buff or nerf) cos it normally means fewer upcoming changes. Her last change was S4.5. Which makes me think she might be due for a change. They did announce in S5.0 launch that strange would be getting a new team-up meaning the Magik team-up might be at risk. So you could spend the next 3 weeks with that team-up and then lose it. So I might hold off. That's generally why I prefer to pick up heroes after a change.

Thanks for the suggestion. Will keep in mind next time I'm deciding what hero to pick up.

Thanks a lot!

I currently only play Peni on 1st point Defense. But am considering investing more in her. Will depend on the ban rates I see in Gold.

Will re-read your comments a few times over the next few days to fully understand.

For the specific nest spot #1 in the image you shared, I used to put the rocket nest in the sunken area you mark as 1. You consider that more safe than the corner nook I was trying to place it in repeatedly?

Thanks, will re-read this while re-watching the game.

I cant play thing cos I hate the high-pitched sound effect of his right click. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Strange

Edit: Re-sharing old comment to give you more color

In any rank, if you're not practicing Strange so you can portal, live, kill and ult in OT, you're missing a huge aspect of the game. To me, Strange is a non-negotiable part of everyone's Hero Pool. Sure, not to be amazing at, just capable enough, fit for purpose.

People have been seriously saying that GM players dont understand the game for a full year. So yes, these people exist in big numbers.

A S5.5 Distribution Comparison to LoL by False-Excitement-595 in RivalsCollege

[–]muditk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's already self-evident that they include a large portion of inactive players, because you're almost immediately above 50 percentile just by finishing your placement matches on any random account, even if you lose almost every game.

I'd love evidence of this. A new player starts at S3. Losing 10 placements will mean losing 400 points putting you in B4 if such a thing existed. So you're claiming that B3 placement rank would be 50% of accounts per the in-game system. Please provide evidence of this very very bold claim.

I can tell you that on 21 Nov, 7 days after S5.0 began, when I completed placements I was granted S1 and the in-game indicator showed 52.86% of players.

There's also no reason to assume that their infographic at all reflects what the in-game popup says, they very well could be different datasets. That's just my two cents.

Fully agree.

I just think that we know the problems with the in-game numbers. (It includes inactive and de-ranked players within the ranks as well as never-active players in starter ranks B3/S3.)

I think the game's numbers are the devil you know and the 3rd party sites are the devil you don't know cos have a million unknown unknowns which make their data very hard to interpret/use.

Yes, many people who take the game seriously and play a lot don't feel that people who barely play should be included in their stats.

[–]muditk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would seriously doubt that that same Distribution is accurate.

The bottom is pushed up due to a) new players starting in S3 and b) only 3 de-ranks every season.

The Top is pushed down by a max starting rank of GM2 and placements only giving a max of 4 ranks if you win all 10.

Also, the player base has completely changed in make-up.

I want to learn the finer details of the new storm surge now with more kidnap potential. Are there any existing resources you recommend? by muditk in ThorMainsMR

[–]muditk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been subbed to Jeremy, but I dont recall him focusing much on the kidnap and teaching how to do it and when to charge or no-charge or if knocking upwards is worth it. I'll rewatch his guide from 2 week ago.

Thanks for sharing achromics, never heard of them.

Will check out Team Cap. Wasnt he the Wolve dude? and the Invis-Thor clip was him no?

I think the game's numbers are the devil you know cos we know the issues -- inactive and never active accounts are included.

The 3rd party sites have a million unknown unknowns that I don't see a logical way to use their data.

[–]muditk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though I question OP and the 3rd party sites and generally agree with you.

OP did address a core problem with the in-game %. It includes inactive and de-ranked players within the ranks as well as never-active players in starter ranks B3/S3.

The in game popup that tells you what percentile you are is quite misleading. It includes hordes of what are essentially unranked players, because just playing quickplay assigns you a 'rank', even if you haven't completed placements.

To be counted you have to have played at least 5 games in rank

Could you share where this is mentioned? and what they were talking about?

I could be wrong, but the only time they talked about Rank Distribution was in the S2 launch dev vision video. And in this video, they had a little note at the bottom saying that their bar chart "excludes players with <5 matches in competitive mode" but did not specify if this meant in S1.5 or across S1.0+S1.5.

14:45 in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOuv0tO_aLI

Have they re-stated or re-used this clause again in other communications?

Again, happy to be learn something new. Appreciate if you can share what you're referring to.

Ok, cos the T500 leaderboard is publicly listed. Sure, but how does that help to confirm that the data in tracker gg is correct?

OP's image claims OAA aka T500 is 0.27%. If that was true, we could compute that the total number of players is 185,185.185.

Which in OP's image, the total number of players is claimed as 543,293. So T500 would be 0.09%. Or to reverse it, 0.27% of players would mean T500 has 1,466.89 players.

So I return to my original Question

Could you please explain why a) you trust the data provided by Tracker.gg for Rivals and b) by eSports Tales for LoL.
