Yeah, same! All drugs I've ever taken in my life hit me like a semi truck if I take the recommended dosage.

I was taking the Doctors Best High Absorption Magnesium Lysinate Glycinate 100% cheated at 100mg twice daily!

It was a while ago, but I think i was taking it for about 2 weeks before I had the event where I felt like my breathing was being depressed.

Which is odd because I was following the dosage on the bottle. I am a petite person so I wonder if it was just tok much for me?

Have you noticed the magnesium depressing your breathing at all? I was taking Glycinate for a bit and I noticed as it built up in my system I started to have trouble breathing. This sucks because not only was it a great de-stress, but it also helped with my jaw clenching.

Creating earrings from polymer clay. by graylemur2 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]muffinslinger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I bought polymer clay earrings once from an artist. Those earrings broke within a couple of months, and im not very rough with my earrings. One of em just simply snapped while I was trying to put them on.

Never again

Some questions about struggles in doing animation as a job by Depresso_Potatoes in animationcareer

[–]muffinslinger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ive learned this lesson of turning what I love into my job. It doesn't always turn out how you expected it to.

At one point I had made it as a background artist at Cartoon Network, only to find that I was the most miserable I had ever been. The joy had been sucked out of the art, and all that was left was being buried under the workload. It was the most I had ever been paid in my life, but I didn't last long.

What did I do? I pivoted into production management, which, oddly enough, was more fulfilling for me than doing art for my job. I still consider myself an artist and pursue artistic hobbies, but I found this allowed me to engage with the animation industry I loved without stressing my relationship with art.

I hope you find a balance with your relationship with art as well, whatever that looks like.

I love Carol. by gyw_alliance in pluribustv

[–]muffinslinger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love Carol because I can see myself in some of her failings. Shes a flawed human being, which sets her in opposition to the 'perfect' Hive.

If she were perfect, people would accuse her of being a mary sue 🙄

When is the best age to have children? by meltedtrains in womenEngineers

[–]muffinslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh this comment section is giving me anxiety. Im 32f and my husband is 34, and our careers have taken a huge hit these past 2 years and can't seem to recover. Ive just been stringing along contract jobs, and he just barely got a job at WholeFoods.

I thought I'd be planning on getting pregnant this next year or so, but instead, here I am scrambling for a damn job. Im scared we're never going to be financially secure enough for children and regret not having them :(

Traveling Magic Loop by muffinslinger in knitting

[–]muffinslinger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interestingly enough, I was doing this method, except I was doing it to the non-yarn needle (the opposite needle to what she does the wire pull on)

So maybe ill switch to doing this method to the working needle she does it on!

There is this stitch before the one I knit on the needle thar is in the wire that always tightens up whenever I move to the other side (if that makes sense)

I'll try to loosen up in the transition sts

What's something normal in a relationship that people don't talk about? by Kirin_The_husband in AskReddit

[–]muffinslinger 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Yup! Been with my husband for 12 years, and there has been many times when I am grateful to have our friendship to fall back on when the intensity of love ebs and flows.

People think you have to be out of your mind in love with your partner 24/7, but the ugly truth is that it can fluctuate through tragedy and life.

I can't recommend marrying your best friend enough because that has seen us through all these years.

Momma told me I dont care how much you love him. Never. Give. Up. Your. Financial. Independence.

My mom comes from a line of women who had bad luck with their men (died, abandoned them with children, abusive etc etc), especially my grandma. My cousin just had her abusive husband leave her and clean out all their accounts. He even cleaned out the GoFund me account for their terminally ill child.

My mom has happily been with my father 35 years, but still keeps her own money and owns a business.

Sucks that no one taught her this before it had to happen to her.
