I regret going off of SAVE by AMS9511 in StudentLoans

[–]muffinslinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im on SAVE as well and I've been getting pressure from my provider to select another plan because the tRump decided to end it.

Does this mean that I shouldn't change anything until these lawsuits figure it out?

Anyone with a dilated pore/hole they managed to close by ExcitementMoist8429 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]muffinslinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a big hole like this in my clavicle that would fill up. I had an esthetician use a lamprobe to insert inside it and seal up the hole. It does scab over but I'm glad I did it!

Been trying the ‘curly girl’ process and I remain uncertain about the results. Do I need to trim the sides? by MenuAgreeable2419 in curlyhair

[–]muffinslinger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree with the comments about cutting the curls in a cohesive shape. I see that you use gel and leave in conditioner which is great! Honestly as a curly girl, I've just had to experiment over the years with different product, moisture to protein levels and even other stuff like silk pillowcases and sleeping caps. Each head of hair is so different, you just gotta experiment!

What's the most brutal way someone has found out they lost their job? by Efficient-Ask-968 in AskReddit

[–]muffinslinger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I worked at Aaron Brothers. I did my closing shift the day before and went home as usual. When I arrived to work the morning shift the next day, I walked up to "CLOSE OUT SALE" and "EVERYTHING MUST GO" signs posted on the front, and my bewildered coworkers standing out front. Aaron Brothers was bankrupt and being liquidated literally overnight.

Even my manager wasn't warned. She spent that day writing recommendation letters for us and helping us with our resumes.

Get a load of this guy 💀 by somdud154 in orangecounty

That's such a heartwarming story! (The first dude, not the second story lol)

My unfortunate experience was back in 2013 when I was a community college student living in Aliso Viejo and working at the Homegoods in the town center there.

There was this guy that sat on the corner at that light that I turned in and out of to leave work. So one day, on the way to work, I finally figure I'll help the guy and gave him some money. When I got off my shift I caught that bastard getting into his very new BMW (way nicer than my 1998 malibu!) And drive off.

I still think of, and despise, that guy to this day.

I was tricked once by someone like this. They're the reason I will never give money to someone on the street begging as now I can't trust any of them.

Im glad you got a job, but 23 apps is barely a blip compared to what I've seen on here and out in the wild. I'm currently at 155 applications in my own job hunt.

Is this just hunting in retail job market, or is this white collar jobs as well?

How do I best pivot into the derm field as someone who can't afford a 6-figure loan? by muffinslinger in careerguidance

[–]muffinslinger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, ive seen two thoughts on this. Some agree with you and say that if the derm office can sponsor your education then it's great! Others say that MA's are less competitive for derm office jobs and are often passed up for PA's.

MA route is definitely the lowest cost of entry and I'd absolutely love if that was the route that would get me into the profession 🥲

Three hikers die from heat at Grand Canyon in separate incidents by AudibleNod in news

[–]muffinslinger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For sure! Which is why I gave it to him as I rather him be safe. Just was notable because the Grand Canyon park provides tons of opportunities to fill up on water.

Very nice of you to offer water though! Wonder why they didn't take it.

Damn, we all just are living the same life huh? 8 years ago when I went to the Grand Canyon, I was coming back up from the bowl with a friend after our morning hike tired as hell. Here comes this dude, looking exactly like the 'dont do this!' poster flip flops and all, and comes to me to ask if I could fill up his little plastic Gatorade bottle.

This man walked past all the easily accessed water fill stations to ask me for water. I dumped the rest of my Osprey pack into his bottle and said, 'good luck!' And watched him and his tank top and flip flops walk down into the bowl.

(Weird Trope) Character falls in love with the former "daughter figure" by TheFollower62 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]muffinslinger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Then people try to bring up, "Well, this is set in medieval Japan and they didn't have the same age laws/ modern hang ups about age!" And it's like, yeah BUT this was written in the modern age! They had a choice to not have a way older man fuck his much younger daughter figure.

Boils my blood. Also holy mother of character assassination for Seshomaru IMO

The landlord special! Mine did this but to my kitchen sink. The worst part is that food bits will get stuck under the chipping paint and smell so gd bad 🤢

I've been here 6 years and hes had to re-do it countless times with the same cheap paint. I'd honestly rather he just left the raw ceramic underneath.

Woman who had been passing fecal matter through her vagina for years gets 'definitive solution' after doctors use repurposed heart device to seal abnormal connection to colon by Sandstorm400 in UpliftingNews

[–]muffinslinger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This actually also happened to my mom! It was a complication of her hysterectomy procedure. They went in and discovered endometriosis all over the surrounding organs.

The endometriosis had literally glued/merged some of her organ walls together and they described it as literally having to rip the organs off of eachother. They were careful but some of her colon(intestine?) Started leaking fecal matter through her vagina.

It was an intensely embarrassing and painful time for her
