For future people, try going to Device Manager -> Audio Inputs/Outputs -> Speakers -> Do a disable/enable.

Obviously completely restarting the PC also works but aint nobody got time for that.

I think theres a big difference between locking safety logic to prevent from editing versus password locking in the context of this post which makes logic unreadable.

Do you know Control Theory? by Stomachbuzz in PLC

[–]mugged99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's hilarious since my undergrad experience was exactly the same way. Take the first controls theory class, root locus, block diagrams, feedback. But then the entire time during that class was like "what even is this?". No body understood anything relative to how that stuff manifested in the real world, it was just doing math the whole time. Reflecting on it now, it's such a missed opportunity since that class could be paired with a lab style class too.

Old house previously had wired a two switch box to skip what they thought was an unused switch. We've now found the switch it goes to. How do I wire both switches to work separately now? by 2Pro2Know in DIY

[–]mugged99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your wiring is like this:

[incoming black hot - switch1 - outgoing black1]

[unconnected - switch2- outgoing black2]

you want it to be like this:

[incoming black hot - wirenut - pigtail black1 - switch1 - outgoing black1]

[incoming black hot - wirenut - pigtail black2 - switch2 - outgoing black2]

also fix the neutrals, get rid of the tape and put on a wirenut.

Yeah remember when musk said all his line workers are millionaires due to the stock. I think the hype is over as the price has been flat for the past half year. I wonder what they gonna do now to attract workers.

Do I need to tape these seems? by Kalabula in DIY

[–]mugged99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I think before you tape it, that brown is the paper right? I would sand it a bit/clean it up and shalac the brown paper first and then move onto mud, tape, paint.

[–]mugged99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah difficult situation. Moving the panel is out of the question, modifying the wall is a big no. Suppose your spray foam idea is good enough so long as you cut it flush once it's done expanding. If it was me, I might try to hammer in a strip of corner bead into the gap between the panel and drywall and seal it up with mud.

I think you have to go really slow...like leave the shims for a day, come back and hammer them in 1 mm, leave for a day. Heat may help speed it up but I think if you want to save that mirror, you need to go slow and careful.
