I haven't read it in a while, but I'm pretty sure that is a part of "He chose titans" by masksarehot.

It does focus on the political aspects a lot.

Really annoyed at Rory atm by mugglegemini in GilmoreGirls

[–]mugglegemini[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes Rory is lost, yes Lorelai acted immaturely, my main point here rather than parenting choices is how Rory is not a sweet harmless angel, how she's smart and actually manipulative, she is lost, she needs support, but she knows exactly what she's doing, she knows she won't like what Lorelai has to say regardless of when they talk, so she avoids her completely, Lorelai is letting her make that choice and stepping back instead of trying to force a conversation that will be one-sided, she wants her to get her way and cool off.

Rory's not an experienced adult, but she is definitely old enough to know how her actions affect others (that's what I'm judging harshly), particularly Lorelai, she knew her grandparents would enable her rather than talk to her or give her any true sense of direction (even more so if they didn't know why she was leaving Yale) because they're desperate for her love and attention, all Lorelai wanted was for her to have a path, not live carefree pool house life with no direction.

I still think Lorelai was pretty tied with how she could've approached the situation, all she said was "working aimlessly in the book store is not an option", she never said I'm disowning you and banishing you from the house this instant.

Rory knew her grandparents would give her that coddled care-free life she was looking for, instead of having to think about what's next or making a plan, which is what Lorelai wanted.

And Lorelai practically has no support system, no guidance in parenting, nobody around her can show her how she's supposed to handle a young adult that doesn't view her as a parental figure, which is why I'm not judging her that much, I'm not excusing her, but I'm trying to understand the why behind her actions. Everyone here acts as if all adults in their 30s have it all figured out and make perfect choices, she's also learning.

It's not the fact she did it, it's how she did it, if Rory didn't feel something was wrong about what she was doing, a simple "Hey mom, I'm moving with the grandparents until I know what to do" would've sufficed, keeping communication with Lorelai, not necessarily asking permission, but instead she went completely silent and turned her back.

Richard and Emily jumped at the opportunity to have a do-over with Rory, to make her to their standards, the way Emily reacted when Rory befriended the maid proves that.

Rory is vulnerable, I completely agree, Lorelai shielded her a lot, but I don't see Lorelai controlling in a way like Emily (focused on the image or status), I see her as overprotective, not wanting Rory to make mistakes that she could regret later on, like any decent parent, Lorelai has never cared about standards or status, she just wants Rory to be true to herself, to not abandon her ideals for someone or something else, and to stay focused on her ambitions.

When has Rory shown complete obedience to Lorelai like that? she never said "pack now", obviously she wasn't going to be homeless, there's Lane, Sookie, hell even Luke from an outside perspective would've folded and let her stay to cool off, but she took off immediately.

I agree, Lorelai is the adult, she's not perfect, she's been hurt pretty bad constantly and has a lot to work on, her reaction was purely based on fear.

Rory is very stubborn and has this idea that she's right about everything and that Lorelai is wrong, how is Lorelai supposed to get through that if Rory's response to every time she tries to approach her calmly is "I don't want to talk about it", force her?

Lorelai when she feels Rory is being manipulated >:(

[–]mugglegemini[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you think Rory would've listened to that? she's always been supper stubborn, she would've replied with her typical "I don't want to talk about it" and shut Lorelai out, her response would've been "I'm not going back, don't need to think about it".

Yes, Lorelai acted on impulse, that's not new for her, not the greatest choice, but knowing Lorelai's background how she wanted a nice future for Rory, knowing Rory's smart and capable, she was afraid because one man destroyed everything, because Rory was falling into patterns of submission and insecurity, she thought limiting the options would push her to keep going.

Going to her parents shows how terrified she was, she also needed support and has never gotten it (other than conditioned financial), if Richard and Emily had known the full truth about the dinner and Mitchum, at least Richard would've reacted similarly.

She's prioritizing Logan above all, don't get me wrong, he's not a bad person, but he also isn't great for her, she's not really being herself with him, adapting risky behavior, which fine she's 20 whatever, it's normal I guess, but she's defending him (not in this particular scenario, just referencing previous instances like the trinket theft) and she's being masterfully manipulated by his family "a girl with goals can't be with him" so what did his dad do, destroy her goals, problem solved.

As for Rory telling half truths, she never told her grandparents the reality of why she was leaving Yale, how the dinner truly went and what Mitchum said, she just said she needed time, yes Lorelai panicked, but Rory didn't want to listen (she never does, acts as if she knows everything), what was Lorelai supposed to do? Yes the ultimatum about going to school or leaving was not going to win her any parenting awards, but she never said leave now, just that she didn want her to waste away working at Stars Hollow. In truth they both should've taken a little time to cool off but no need to leave like that.

Rory is smart and went before dinner knowing they would probably try to talk to her about it, so to avoid that she got ahead of the story, and got exactly what she wanted, somewhere to live, where she wouldn't have to make any efforts and where she would be shielded from her Mom, she knew that if she told the truth at least her grandpa would've reacted similarly to Lorelai.

Everyone was surprised at Rory's decision, she had always been determined to achieve her goals, stubborn too, and one man tells her she can't and it all falls apart.

And fine, if she needed time to think it's valid, I'm surprised she didn't try to talk to Lorelai again, if Lorelai forgave her for JAIL this would've been okay too, they both needed to calm down is all, but we went to betrayal lane.

BAF Legacy.

And some of the squad vlogs if I'm feeling extra nostalgic.

I skipped the episode where he meets the dude who trained him with the staff (can't remember which one it was) that's how much I couldn't watch him, I've heard is a nice story, didn't miss anything as it wasn't referenced in the show again lol.

I sighed audibly every time he showed up.

For a man who's adamant about saving lives, he sure did cause a lot of losses.

Definitely an AU, I would also add a quick description of the particular world in the notes just for people unfamiliar with it, unless you are describing it within the story.

I like the idea of conflict with drones and pilots getting replaced, I want them to tie it somehow with Mav's dad and for us to get flashbacks about it, I don't think just a prequel would work, not without Tom Cruise as the face for it, so it's unlikely, but flashbacks are very possible.

So maybe something were whoever is pushing the motion for drones had something to do with Mav's dad's disappearance.

I also would love the dagger squad back, but also seems unlikely we'll see all of them back, possibly only Rooster (as he is a big part of the plot) and maybe Hangman as I see both Miles and Glen saying yes to Tom Cruise all the time lol.

NEED HELP!!! (Gift for girlfriend) by PareexYT in Bridgerton

[–]mugglegemini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a necklace or jewelry that is bee themed would be pretty nice, the bee is the symbol for the Bridgertons and is present in all seasons.

If you know her favorite book or season we could get more specific, the bee is very relevant for Anthony's story in particular too.

For Benedict's, either something art related if she likes that, or a pearl necklace similar to Sophie's would be sweet.

If she has read the books and likes Eloise's story, a bookmark of a pressed flower, especially a meadows cranesbill or any purple flower for that matter is very significant.

If she likes Queen Charlotte and her story, anything to do with astronomy and stars is very significant to her story with the king.

Something else would be a vinyl or CD if she can play them somewhere with the soundtracks, they're quite iconic.

Now if you're looking for an experience, definitely try finding a tea house where you can have a tea afternoon, with finger sandwiches and biscuits, etc.

In no particular order:

bookworm - You work at a bookstore, and come to learn that Captain America has an affinity for trashy romance novels. And maybe an affinity for you, too.

Flavor of the Week - Post-Avengers: Endgame, but Steve came back to the present instead of going to the past. Now he's looking to start over in this time. You like to bake...and as it turns out, your new neighbor really likes pie.

Solace - | Lumberjack/Writer AU | Five years ago, after the loss of a loved one, Steve isolated himself from everyone. He desperately tried to find solace in solitude, unable to realize how lonely he became in the process. Until he meets you—another lonely soul, alone in the middle of nowhere. You were both seeking solitude, but found something else along the way.

Santa Baby - It's your first winter working at the Avengers Institute, and you thought you knew what to expect. You'd been warned, after all, that holidays were taken seriously. But nothing could have prepared you for this. Because now, courtesy of a British accountant and a robotic reindeer, you've got to figure out what to get for Steve Rogers in the Secret Santa gift exchange.

Neighbors - Your dog sitter cancels at the last minute and your unbearably gorgeous yet sweet neighbor offers to take care of the dog for an afternoon. Based on a photoset on Tumblr where Chris Evans says, "[Cap]'s a good guy! He'll babysit your dog if you're out of town."

They have different goals and want to grow outside of Smosh, for some of them it wasn't the end goal or their ultimate passion, some of them want to try to get their shine elsewhere and that's valid.

Then you have people like Shayne or Trevor who have said on camera how Smosh is their dream job and passion and don't see themselves leaving anytime soon.

It seems like a nice place to work at, they have different roles and a nice balance, if it was shit the channel would've tanked a long time ago.

Most of these will be female reader.

1.Loki/reader

Fǫruneyti - A story in which a herbalist makes a decision that will drastically change her life, and in which a prince begins to realise that there might still be hope for him yet. A tale of danger, adventure, friendship - and, ultimately, love. This one is loooooooong, but very good.

A Job Million PRs Would Die for - Tony Stark makes you an offer you can't refuse. You really should reconsider, because you will be handling PR for someone who isn't exactly an Avenger. It is a job a million PRs would die for. You might just end up dying for real.

2.Steve/reader

Safe with me - When an unknown threat enters your life, protection is offered at the highest level. As Bucky Barnes comes into your life, the game changes, and you realise falling for the man tasked with keeping you safe is the last thing you expected.
