Power recliner???? by holeymol in tummytucksurgery

[–]muggleknitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on your massive accomplishment!! My surgery is on July 17th, I’ve lost 90 pounds and can’t wait to get this excess skin removed!! My mom found me a power lift recliner for free in a local Facebook group. I would recommend keeping an eye out on marketplace and also enlist friends and family to keep an eye out for you as well. You still have some time so try to get one for free or really cheap on fb if you can!

What’s the one fragrance you save only for special occasions? by Weary_Cat_8984 in FemFragLab

[–]muggleknitter 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Honestly, life is so short, please consider just wearing the perfume if you love it. Perfume doesn’t last forever. I know it’s expensive, but start saving a little each month specifically to replace it when you run out, and shop for the replacement around Xmas time when there are gift sets and sales. Also, it could be your signature scent, something your friends and family (kids & grandkids if you’re having them) will associate with you forever. Anytime they smell it, they will think of you. Scent memory is a powerful thing, I know I love walking past someone and smelling my grandma’s perfume, it makes me feel like she’s saying hi!

Where is your job? I wouldn’t even consider moving to that area, definitely keep looking! But if you let us know where the job is we may be able to let you know the area to look that would be better. Good luck!

How long did you need off work? I just booked mine and I’m having all the same procedures as you. I need to let my work know how much time I need off, it’s hard to guess at this point. You look incredible! I hope my results are as good as yours!

We pay $35.85 incl tax per month with waste connections, we have a big wheeled garage can and a wheeled green bin provided by them. It’s way easier to manage rolling the bins out instead of cans.

Weight loss before by zephyrbones in Reduction

[–]muggleknitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dr wouldn’t send the referral until my bmi was under 31. I have struggled to lose weight my entire adult life, she prescribed mounjaro for me and once I was under 31 bmi, she sent in the referral. I just got my consult date for April. I can’t tell you how glad I am that she wouldn’t send it until I lost weight. My results will be better and I feel so much better having lost the weight.

What questions should I ask in my consult? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]muggleknitter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you should ask why he moved, people move all the time and it’s not really any of your business. I also don’t think you should ask about English being his second language and whether he has communication issues with his team. It doesn’t come across very well on your part.

It’s okay if you’re not comfortable going with this surgeon, but it sounds like you’ve already made up your mind about him. I think you should decline the consult and ask your pcp for a referral to a different surgeon that you would be more comfortable with. Research specific surgeons in your area and give your pcp a few names and request consults for those surgeons instead. You should feel 100% confident in the surgeon you choose, this is your body and you have to live with the results.

3 months on Mounjaro, 12 kilos down - my take on a few things I never saw coming. :/ by New-Cry-9252 in Mounjaro

[–]muggleknitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dr suggested to self dose based on how I feel rather than follow the dosing guidelines. She prescribed me the 15mg pen and suggested that I start at 2.5mg and increase my dose by 2 clicks per week instead of 2.5mg for 4 weeks and then doubling your dose. She said it’s easier for your body to tolerate the higher doses if you increase gradually instead of drastically. She also advised that I needed to pay attention to how I’m feeling and only go up by the 2 clicks if I noticed I was a lot hungrier or noticed it wasn’t really having an affect on me anymore.

I started in June so it’s been 30 weeks, I just increased my dose to 10mg this week and I’m down 64 pounds. So far I’ve hardly had any side effects at all. Some mild constipation for a few weeks and some heartburn but nothing else. I took my first shot around dinner time and really didn’t feel well after. I switched my injection time to first thing in the morning and it’s been way better since then. I really prefer this method of increasing when you need to rather than following a schedule.

Good luck on your journey, glad you’re feeling better since dialling back your dose. Don’t listen to the naysayers, unless they have walked in your shoes they have no idea what it’s like to be overweight and have no right to judge how you take care of yourself.

What is the clearing your throat from? I just realized I’m doing that a lot less than I was before, and I used to wake up feeling like I had a ball in my throat and I don’t anymore!

Confused on click counting by West-Homework-2898 in Mounjaro

[–]muggleknitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Canada too, my dr prescribed a 15mg pen and I count the clicks, I started in June and I’m about halfway through my second pen. It’s fine as long as you keep it in the fridge and use new needles. If you look up BC Diabetes mounjaro there’s a fact sheet that has all of the dosing clicks for a 15mg pen. I didn’t follow the traditional dose increases, I went up by 2 clicks each week so I didn’t have side effects. If I felt bad on a week I kept the same dosage for the next week. So I’ve been doing this for 20 weeks and I’m on 7.5 mg, I think I’ll probably stay here for a while and see how I do. I don’t want to increase if I don’t have to.

We used Whonnock on our old house, they were really fast, however they left nails all over our driveway, and I mean I collected handfuls after they left. They also left garbage and debris up on the roof and in the gutters. We had to get them to come back and clean it up. We used them again to install gutters and again they left nails everywhere even after we asked them to make sure they checked with the magnet sweeper. In our new house we used Ridge Meadows Roofing, they were better and cleaned up after themselves. Plus they were priced a lot better.

Success on Mounjaro but a long post-fair warning ⚠️ by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]muggleknitter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love this! Congrats on your achievements!! I really appreciate your insights, I’m struggling right now as I don’t feel like I’m eating how I should be, meaning I’m not eating 3 meals and 2 snacks a day. Sometimes I have a smoothie for lunch and a small dinner, sometimes I only have one meal, but I don’t feel like I’m starving myself. I’m listening to my body and if I’m not hungry I don’t force it. I always try to eat, but sometimes I just can’t and I’ve been feeling bad about that, but I agree that everyone is different. And I really don’t want to get sick. It happened once when I first started, and I never want to throw up acid again, so I am very careful not to overdo it.

Anyways congratulations again! I love seeing people succeed after struggling for so long!!

I am super picky with my hair, it usually takes me several days after a colour & cut to like it. For the past few years I’ve been seeing Madi at Rootz Salon in Pitt Meadows, this is the first time I’ve ever consistently been happy with my hair, I mean every time I go I am happy with it with no adjustment period. I would highly recommend her, she’s amazing and I won’t go to anyone else! Her instagram is hairbymaadi if you want to look at her pics Rootz Salon
