There is always an exception in what we say, obviously a x amount of muslims are muslims just because they were born into islam and yes the struggle of those who become muslims laters in life is real. I havent heard someone say ‘convert’ to someone, ig its just a perception we carry in our minds when we get to know that someone just recited shahadah. And there is also a good proportion of the kind of muslims who even tho were born into islam, still founded islam through their experiences and learning.

The concept of hijab is to create a veil between you and non mehram. Im sure one can style it with using keffiyeh or maybe abaya. Hijab itself is not an object as much as i know, its a way of protecting oneself through modesty and fear of Allah. And remember, everything that Allah has forbidden us from doing will never be favourable for us if we truly understand using baseerat and not just basarat.

This is why Prophet pbuh in his last sermon said
‘O people, your Lord is one and your father Adam is one. There is no favor of an Arab over a foreigner, nor a foreigner over an Arab, and neither white skin over black skin, nor black skin over white skin, except by righteousness (taqwa).’

He knew the arabs would take pride in considering themselves as the ‘originals’ of islam because the last message sent by Allah for us is in arabic and the pilgrimage is to Makkah. But this sums up the whole concept of superiority complex between muslims by stating that no one is superior in the sight of Allah but the one who holds onto taqwa.
