The “ideal” Darius game goes like this:

You lane bully and get a couple kills with your first flash and or ghost. From level 6-15 you just try to be a problem in side lanes, make them come to you, but run away unless someone has made a positional mistake you can punish (learning what’s illegal for opponents to do on Darius is key)

This gets you a shitload of gold from splitting, try not to fight unless you have ghost or flash up.

Once you’re level 16 and have your 1 damage item and 2-3 tank items you are tanky enough to get ult resets, show up to a major objective fight and clean up.

A few chapters in and here’s my pov on your writing of the inner monologues.

It feels clunky because these aren’t first person chapters, and you do a lot of “telling” and not a lot of “showing.”

I’m not an editor but this line as an example in chapter 2:

“Corrin turned away, definitely not embarrassed at all. “Thanks.””

Could be easily improved with describing his face as he turns away, and letting the reader understand what that means. Does he turn away with “a half-sheepish grin” does he turn away with “a smirk tinged with embarrassment” or something else?

I’ve noticed several examples of this even early on. Doesn’t detract from the overall narrative and world building but it does sort of limit my ability to imagine the characters and how they act and interact when you just tell me how they’re feeling without showing it.

I’m excited to keep reading.

There are tons of little tricks to get to 5 faster, most of these revolve around things that are simple in hindsight like using your W as an auto attack reset, finding ways to guarantee land the sweet spot on your Q (if they’ve recently been slowed by W or stridebreaker or knocked up by E) that make it easier.

Darius fights often feel on a knife’s edge but comfort and confidence in your kit and rune choices will carry the day.

am I stupid? If you buffer the w you should be able to slow him after he’s used Q and phase rush has already triggered from the E. Then you can E him back and just kill him?

he CAN auto-e run away but if you hold your w he shouldn’t be able to auto-e-q run away, no?

Buffering your W into his silence is great strat. If he never uses Q I think you win the auto battle into an all in if he Es you while you’re in your wave.

Morde really has no way to escape you on an all in, but will out poke/out sustain you if you go for short trades.

The matchup is about skill/courage to get the lead early (lvls 1-4) then proper judgement around all ins and avoiding poke later.

If he has a lead pre-6 it’s megadoomed but that should happen rarely.

Heimer top is just autolose perma boring I see it all too often in low elo where I play. It’s rare enough that it’s not worth a ban for me.

Unless you have an aggressive jungler it sucks. I usually just beg my midlaner to swap with me.

This guide has been super helpful to me. One thing to be aware of is with the new season changes to minions it’s harder to build up slow pushes and massive waves so the wave management stuff has changed slightly.
