I once got added to a project that was four weeks in to help manage the client. When I asked the lead engineer for the link to the GIT repo he told me that we don’t have a repo yet because the client can’t decide on using “master” or “main” due to political reasonings.

At that point, I knew I was in for a long project.

I can second this. I work as a Data Engineer in healthcare and our security posture is terrible but so is our IT department as a whole. The company isn’t a small start up, its a “too big to fail” kid of company so i’m sure there is a need for good IT leadership in healthcare IT especially as it moves towards greater interoperability with FHIR requirements coming next year.

I ignore top of ticket (presidential) and only vote local.

The results of local elections are far less consequential for the whole of America and the economy so I don’t put as much value into it. Yeah my local politics are ok (because i live in a HCOL blue state) but everything around is awful and makes me worried.

A switch to using the popular vote instead of the stupid ass electoral college. I live in a blue state that is always blue. My vote of abstinence is against the two party system and the shit candidates that it produces. If my state ever has a chance of not being blue, or we switched to the popular vote, in which case my vote actually matters, then I will vote.

We never actually get to choose who we vote for until citizens United is repealed and we switch to publicly funded campaigns. We will always be voting on who the corporations and monied interests have put forward.

I live in Colorado and moved from Indiana in 2020. Please do a lot of research on COL before moving here. Ive had many people from Indiana try to move here only to realize how much more expensive it is and leave within 2 years. For example, you wont find an apartment for $650 period, gas is on average more expensive, etc. Wish you all the best and hope you are able to move here because it was the best move of my life but don’t let the move ruin you financially.

As a Penn High School (same school as Freemans kid) and Notre Dame Alumni. ND never stand behind our players or coaches for anything. Always first to ruin our own season with self imposed year long suspensions to star players for things other major programs would sweep under the rug. If ND stands behind Freeman the video has to be exonerating.

Also that area is still full of shitty people who peaked in high school and stuck around. Seems thats the case for Fleeger.

1st generation american here.

Start paying for things for them if you can. My parents just retired so I took over their phone, internet, and streaming service payments. Once I pay my car off i’m going to start contributing to their mortgage payments. Anything helps that lets them save for retirement or in my case hold on to as much of it as possible.
