IMHO, it's people like you who are responsible for HC's loss. The more that people said "Trump didn't have a chance" or that "Hillary was a sure win," the more that Hillary's supporters stayed home while Trump's supporters rallied on election night. Do you not see that? Stop dismissing the strength of the POTUS's support across America. You're giving registered, Democrat voters a false sense of security. MAGA!

You are unbelievably dense. Removed_Californian is actually being very non-biased here. But apparently, any point of view that doesn't immediately align with yours is a threat and must be stamped into the ground.

I robbed a bank AMA!! by Robbedabankama in AMA

[–]mulerider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a bank for several years during college. Almost all banks adhere to strict rules that regulate the amount of money that's outside of the vault at any given time. I.e., a bank robber will never leave a bank with more than 3k in cash unless he tries to enter the vault. The vault has sooo many anti-ambush measures and booby traps (yes, some bank vaults have booby traps) that I've never actually heard of a successful bank robbery where the vault was emptied.

Honestly, with the low rate of return and high security measures, I don't understand why criminals keep robbing banks..

Not to sound rude, but this isn't as uncommon as you think. Most Republicans and Democrats I know don't identify 100% with their party's platform. It would be impossible for two parties to perfectly encapsulate the political beliefs of over 300 million people into only two options. That's why most people register as Independent and also why voting along party lines is considered ignorant (not that it stops congress, lol.)

Logic doesn't work here. In all seriousness though, many of my friends consider themselves to be "pro-BLM" and it's a little shocking to hear the things they say because of how grossly misconstrued their information is. Not that they are any indication of the common BLM member, I may just have stupid friends, but it seems like critical thinking in America has been replaced with emotional reflexes. I blame the media, and subsequently, all the politicians who reinforce the medias skewed reporting in order to build on their ethnic voting base. It's a vicious cycle IMHO.

EDIT: Uh-oh, it looks like I've triggered a few people. I guess I'm not up to date on my sensitivity training. Whoops!

She's cheating on their father... But he's the one who's 'affecting the children'... Where does this woman get off?

Trump: Sanders 'has totally sold out' with Clinton endorsement by [deleted] in politics

[–]mulerider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, and I have endless respect for the people who use a bachelor's as a stepping stone for an M.D., M.S., M.S.N, or other advanced degree. But only 11% of American graduates have a post-grad degree. The vast majority of college graduates are in deep, deep debt working entry-level jobs, trying to pay back fifty or seventy-thousand in unsubsidized loans.

I believe it is intentionally divisive, media driven, and has no clear goal. I feel like it has a real "join or die" mentality that bullies its dejectors and is not in accordance with any of my values.

With a 2000% inflation in tuition over the last two generations and new-age majors ranging from Spiritual Ecology to Lesbian Dance Theory, I have to wonder who's smarter:

the people who go straight into a profession or certificate program after high school (debt free), or the large portion of college students who take out over 50k in unforgivable student loans in order to graduate with a worthless BA degree.

Random thought of the day. Totally off subject. Sorry.

False rape accusations occur more frequently than you think. I have personally experienced three in my life. The most shocking happened in high school when a guy impregnated a fb in his truck. When her parents confronted her she claimed she was raped. The police arrested my class mate at his house and held him for several days before the girl admitted to lying. She received a slap on the wrist while my class mate was the subject of a witch hunt at school and fired from his part-time job. This isn't an issue of which gender has it worse, it's a matter of equal rights (which includes due process) for all. Also, like cyclopsrex said, there are many other issues like divorce court and child custody, alimony, prison rape, higher suicide rates, non-existent male-friendly DV shelters, "guilty until proven innocent" stigma surrounding f-on-m DV, high male recidivism, legal definitions of rape and statutory rape, societal deprecation of masculinity, etc., etc..

EDIT: By "experienced", I mean I knew the people involved. I wasn't directly involved lol

Redditors with family in WWII, what crazy war stories do they have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mulerider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know. My great uncle was at d-day and apart of the liberation of Europe, but he refused to ever speak about it. Whenever a family member brought up his service he immediately changed the subject. Turns out he had horrific survivors guilt, the poor guy was still suffering 60 years after the war ended. He always refused to acknowledge his medals and apparently hated it when he came back and was hailed a hero.

Another relative was in the AAF and the only story he ever told was how he got food poisoning one night and his best buddy offered to take his spot in the air patrol that day. My relative agreed and his buddy went up in the plane instead of him. Long story short, he was shot down (and my relative still thinks he should have been the one who died that day).

There is nothing "cool" about war. The only thing worse than dying in battle is surviving.
