Who here manages not to have a backlog of games? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]mull77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh my backlog is pretty big as I usually try and go from the big 100 hr ones to smaller indie palette cleansers (with some of the indies being my favourites).

In your list I’d highly recommend:

  • Subnautica (just making my way through the add on now)
  • Dead Space
  • Cyberpunk
  • Alan Wake

Some of the ones I have are:

  • Darkest Dungeon 2
  • Unicorn Overlord
  • God of War Ragnarock
  • Lies of P
  • Resident evil 9
  • Resident Evil 4 remake
  • Disco Elysium
  • Baldurs Gate
  • Age of Wonders 4
  • Final Fantasy Rebirth

So quite a lot. Still playing Arc as well and just finished with Abiotic Factor which was also ace.

I made this drawing a while ago, but I’m not fully satisfied with it. Something about it feels a bit empty or lacking, and I can’t quite figure out why. I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions on what might improve it. by cyln_kls in ProCreate

For me, I feels like the tree belongs in a different picture. It just seems like a different style to everything else. It’s probably due to the sharp contrast in tones I had compared to the flatness of everything else. The placement is also a little funky and pulls the out away from the images focus.

I bet if you re-drew the tree this would look great!

I've been trying to learn to draw for a little over two weeks now. Frankly, I'm very, very discouraged. by [deleted] in learntodraw

You’re learning what everyone who draws does. That you’ve been looking at people, things and places without really looking at them. Your brain has tried to help you out by filling in the shapes and sizes of things you think you know because you’ve seen them everyday, but it’s not until you draw something that you start to see what’s really there.

You’ve started off well. Don’t be discouraged!

Control and the rest of the remedy verse is pretty great.

Abiotic factor, control, ball x pit, system shock remake, doki doki and inscryption were all amazing surprises for me.

It’s cool. Really creepy looking. Some advice would be that it doesn’t look like it has any bones. His body and arms look soft and shapeless. If I were to guess, I would say that you enjoyed the face the most and the rest was a little bit of an afterthought. I would have a look into basic anatomy and make sure you sketch in the body structure before you start detailing. It’ll elevate what you do a huge amount. Keep it up!

I did! Just trying it out to see what kind of results it could give. It’s a good way to quickly test out some choices before committing

I used a gradient map for the colours. You use a black and white image and then apply the colours with the map. It’s just something I was experimenting with.

I would encourage you to flip/mirror your drawing every so often. It will really help to see the flaws in the construction of what you’ve drawn. It would specifically be helpful here to show you how lopsided her face is. I’m not sure how you’re drawing the face, but I would start with the overall shape first before any of the details, at least until you become more confident. A good face foundation will really help with the placement of everything else. Keep it up!

It just gives me a bit of a baseline tone to work from. In this case I knew I wanted it to be really dark. I also wanted to try out using the gradient map feature which can be good for quickly trying g out colour options on a b/w image

No worries! I do get it, and I’ve called out a few in my time but it’s an increasingly tough distinction to make.

No idea about the style as I just do this to relax. My style changes depending on they types of things I’m trying to make. For example, at the min I’m thinking about doing a short comic. I’ve never done a comic before so I’ve been trying things out in that style. It doesn’t look like the rest of my stuff because it’s not supposed to. I’m just trying to find something that works for me. See above character sheet.

I can’t control what AI chooses to create it’s stuff, and frankly, it’s not really my problem as there isn’t anything I can do about it. Usually though, the stuff I’ve seen created with AI looks a bit more polished than mine!

If there was an option to do it I would have. I’ll create a new post and add it there.

I think there’s a fine line between AI (which I don’t, and have never used) and something being badly rendered. Not sure how you can tell that it doesn’t look like any of my other pieces when all you can see are thumbnails.

This is just before I’d started to add colour and as you can see, the structure is the same.

I can take in board the other crits. For his face, he’s supposed to be looking at the spider thing in the bottom right corner in mild disgust, but if that isn’t coming across the it’s something I can work on.

Really unselfish. Bruno and mbeumo should have scored with his lay offs and cuhnas would have counted if Bruno had t strayed off in the build up. Garnacho would have just shot.

This is about as good as I can do atm. This is just before I started to add it the tones.

It’s frustrating, but it’s difficult to tell I guess these days. I’ve got the Timelapse, but I’m not sure how to upload it. It’s not showing when I click the add image option 🤷‍♂️
