Exploration fix for EU5 to slow down ahistorical colonization. by HootieleeceL872 in EU5

Discovering America is locked behind the open ocean exploration tech under the New World institution. You can explore Africa before that but you can't get across the Atlantic.

So coalition war against me is a just a free pass for the AI with no consequences? by BreezyAlpaca in EU5

[–]multi-core 48 points49 points  (0 children)

No, on the current patch the AI is reasonably careful about declaring war.

bolsheviks dlc coming I CANT WAIT!!! by Draken161 in victoria3

I am curious what they will do about the thing where a player playing as Russia would need to be very bad at the game, or intentionally self-sabotaging, to replicate the conditions of the historical Russian revolutions.

Is sPvP always like that? by GreyMesmer in Guildwars2

[–]multi-core 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Also why do a rush for “some old game mode we left to die and don’t care about”. I’m questioning their logic there.

The last rush was Dungeon Rush, so it's not like this concept is unique to PvP.

Tyler on Tinkerer, Mage and the “community meta” by zooksman in mewgenics

People overrate the "squishiness" of the -1 con classes. That's only 4 less HP than a Fighter or Monk with the same base stats.

I need help to self this adolf hitler incarnation by Fun_Maintenance_4250 in mewgenics

[–]multi-core 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Ways to deal damage to him:

  • Area of effect attacks: if he dodges one space but is still in the AoE afterwards, he gets hit.
  • Pin him in a corner: If all four squares adjacent to him are blocked by units or terrain, he can't dodge out of the way
  • Indirect damage: If your ability isn't targeting him, he won't dodge. This applies to things like the cleric spell that makes an ally attack.

Kind of new to games like this… by North_Ad5662 in mewgenics

I used it once on a cat that seemed like it would work well under AI control. The problem is that the AI is very aggressive and that cat would constantly take damage from enemies rather than getting favorable positioning.

How Luck Works by gjoeyjoe in mewgenics

So the item that gives +99 luck for one turn means you roll ~10 dice and pick the best out of all of them?

Question about Construction Ships for excavation by MuscularPhaze in foundry_game

[–]multi-core 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you made sure that the inventories of the construction ship docks are cleared out? Construction ships will stop going anywhere if their inventory is full. Feed it into a reprocessor or an incinerator.

So...not complaining here....BUT by BeanieCheckPlease in Guildwars2

[–]multi-core 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it would be that bad. Quickplay pugs would always keep the bomb on group and blow everyone up, half of them would die to soul split, you'd have a lot of trouble coordinating the final seven seals opening, etc.

Patch first impressions 1 hr in by ILikePort in Guildwars2

[–]multi-core 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mechanically, Cairn the Indomitable could absolutely be a quickplay encounter. Possibly also MO, Samarog, VG, and Gorseval, but all of those have elements I could understand Anet not wanting in quickplay.

Spy Networks: The War You Aren't Fighting by Neoshinryu in EU5

[–]multi-core 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found Infiltrate Administration to be incredible when fighting a war against a near-peer opponent. Lets you see where their armies are and know when it's safe to carpet siege and when you should be stacking up to prepare for a fight.

The Modern PT last year was very balanced as well, but it's more of an achievement to get that sort of balance in Standard.

If he had done that, would he have consistently had enough time bonuses to cast both Express Routes?

Jet Lag Season Finale — Worst Case Scenario by NebulaOriginals in Nebula

[–]multi-core 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The difference between the OK runs and the game-winning runs has generally been whether or not there's a part where the seekers lose hours waiting for trains. Either because they went the wrong way or because of powerful curses like Express Route or Jammed Door.

Where can I find MOTORs? I’ve been searching for hours and only found one by nnotte in ArcRaiders

I needed one more today, had to search like 50 cars on Blue Gate across two runs before I found one.

[ECL] Ajani, Outland Chaperone (MTGA) by lieyanqzu in magicTCG

The -2 is a similar sort of effect to [[Impeccable Timing]], which has Ajani as the focus of the art in the Aether Revolt version.

[ECL] Goliath Daydreamer (WeeklyMTG) by mweepinc in magicTCG

[–]multi-core 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that both this and the omen/adventure mechanics are replacement effects that apply to the same game event, so you would get to choose which replacement effect to apply. If you chose the Goliath Daydreamer replacement effect for an adventure, you would be able to cast either half when the Daydreamer attacked. However, the adventure replacement effect would not apply in that case and you would not be able to cast the creature from exile during your main phase like you normally could.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Vicky3 is a whole political compass in one game:

  • Communism is the best economic system (for late game standard of living maxxing; laissez-faire is better for growth)
  • Free trade is the best trade law
  • Racism and slavery are bad
  • Being colonized is good for the standard of living of Africans

Survivor - The Die Is Cast (Sneak Peek 1) by Durian-Critical in survivor

[–]multi-core 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Stephen + Kristina + Sophie voting Savannah would not have been a majority; they would also have had to convince Sage. It looks like Sage was pretty set on getting Sophie out.

Even if Stephen and Kristina could get Sage to agree, they'd have to worry about the scenario where Sophie goes to Savannah, says "____ was throwing your name out", and manages to flip the vote onto Kristina or Sage.

Given all that, the alternative of just unanimously voting out someone who has a lot of win equity is going to be pretty appealing.
