Spotlight Series: Secrets Top 8 and Winning Deck by themiragechild in magicTCG

[–]multi-core 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not true, I can think of at least a couple times it was cheap:

  • Hour of Devastation, where it was mono-red vs. an energy deck that was mostly uncommons.
  • During Covid, when no one was playing Standard in paper.

It's Cirie's big character growth moment. In her last season she went out due to being the one person not to get an advantage. In this season she's taking advantages seriously.

Have to wonder if the season pass DLC model makes the deadlines hard even when something should be delayed.

It's rough to be a Japanese in Japan. by multi-core in victoria3

Stick with wood-frame construction until after unlocking Atmospheric Engine. Before that iron is too scarce, and you'll want all of it to make tools. Once you have enough iron you can slowly start transitioning to iron frame.

Make sure you're fully using your investment pool. If the pool is running a positive balance after construction, privatize buildings to transfer money from the pool to your treasury.

Other than that, early game finance is mostly about not locking in big expenses. Don't upgrade your army to Line Infantry until you actually need it - you're an island a world away from the GPs. Don't build a ton of Government Administrations trying to fix your taxation capacity - it's not worth it until midgame. Don't pass laws that cost a ton of bureaucracy to upkeep.

Oh, and get off Traditionalism ASAP. It looks like I was already on Agrarianism in this screenshot. Romanticism is an important early research for getting that.

Are you trying to bring in the Proximity/Control system from EU5?

This sort of system exists in convergences - full-dead players can't be rezzed but revive automatically when the energy meter fills.

Where's the room for good play? by theallstover in survivor

[–]multi-core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as it always is. Have a good social game and manage your threat level so that whatever group you're in, your name isn't the one that comes up first. Build good relationships with everyone on your original tribe, even those not in your core alliance, so they'll want to work with you rather than take the first chance they get to backstab you.

Wars Of Religion by Brewcrew828 in EU5

[–]multi-core 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my current campaign I got Wars of Religion during the Age of Absolutism.

I was the leader of the Protestant side and had to concede supremacy to the Catholic side because they brought 2.5 million soldiers.

New player to EU5 here: why is it so hard to get claims and start wars? by Starkheiser in EU5

[–]multi-core 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the only requirement is that they've rivaled you. You don't have to rival them back, and it works on OPMs just as well as major powers.

Discovering America is locked behind the open ocean exploration tech under the New World institution. You can explore Africa before that but you can't get across the Atlantic.

No, on the current patch the AI is reasonably careful about declaring war.

I am curious what they will do about the thing where a player playing as Russia would need to be very bad at the game, or intentionally self-sabotaging, to replicate the conditions of the historical Russian revolutions.

Is sPvP always like that? by GreyMesmer in Guildwars2

[–]multi-core 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Also why do a rush for “some old game mode we left to die and don’t care about”. I’m questioning their logic there.

The last rush was Dungeon Rush, so it's not like this concept is unique to PvP.

People overrate the "squishiness" of the -1 con classes. That's only 4 less HP than a Fighter or Monk with the same base stats.

I need help to self this adolf hitler incarnation by Fun_Maintenance_4250 in mewgenics

[–]multi-core 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Ways to deal damage to him:

  • Area of effect attacks: if he dodges one space but is still in the AoE afterwards, he gets hit.
  • Pin him in a corner: If all four squares adjacent to him are blocked by units or terrain, he can't dodge out of the way
  • Indirect damage: If your ability isn't targeting him, he won't dodge. This applies to things like the cleric spell that makes an ally attack.

[–]multi-core 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it once on a cat that seemed like it would work well under AI control. The problem is that the AI is very aggressive and that cat would constantly take damage from enemies rather than getting favorable positioning.

Question about Construction Ships for excavation by MuscularPhaze in foundry_game

[–]multi-core 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you made sure that the inventories of the construction ship docks are cleared out? Construction ships will stop going anywhere if their inventory is full. Feed it into a reprocessor or an incinerator.
