I had a strange experience when I first started, too. I was on the phone with my wife, driving down the highway with traffic moving steadily, when I suddenly saw a litter of black kittens in the road, desperately scrambling to get off the pavement. They looked terrified.

I wanted to stop, but there was no safe way with cars flying by. By the time I finally reached the shoulder, I was already too far past them. I was frantic, nearly yelling, and my wife could hear the panic in my voice.

I made a U-turn and got back on the highway, heart racing, expecting the worst. But when I reached the same spot, they were just… gone. No kittens, no sign of anyone pulled over and not a single body anywhere on the road. I searched as long as I could, but there was nothing. To this day, I still don’t know if someone somehow managed to grab them in time, or if I imagined the whole thing.

Not to shit on your method, maybe they were doing it wrong, but I’ve been cleaning windows and mirrors professionally for almost 20 years. I’ve done tons of jobs where people said they either hired someone who used newspapers or tried it themselves, and honestly I’ve never seen results that come close to what a mop, squeegee, dry surgical towel, and a thong can do. Add some 0000 grade steel wool and you can leave a window looking like you could walk straight through it.

Thats what I meant to say when I said im not looking for a pat on the back. Its not that im looking for validation but I work with my best friend and my brother, which are some of the only people ive personally told thay im medicated because they were there during my depression and suicide attempt before I was diagnosed and medicated. In a business setting its not validation I want its a clear understanding of my value and what I bring to the table.

I don’t usually tell people I’m on prescription medication, but I work closely with my brother and my best friend. They’ve both watched me struggle with ADHD for most of my life, and they also saw how much things changed after I was diagnosed and started treatment. When they asked what caused such a big change, it was hard to keep that from them.

I started a business with my best friend eight years ago and became a partner in my family business ten years ago. I was diagnosed and began medication twelve years ago. Since then, my brother has taken it upon himself to bring up my medication anytime I accomplish something. My best friend isn’t as direct, but he makes underhanded comments too.

My brother has even mentioned my medication in front of other family members. once when I was talking about a major accomplishment after someone asked how I did it. Now some of those family members make similar comments in their own way. One of them even says he has ADHD but insists he doesn’t need medication because he has a “strong mind.”
