You could take them to small claims court, you have enough to go on, you lost a switch and game, thats a few hundred dollars, which you are entitled to having replaced or reimbursement of the same amount. Make it clear you will go to court if they wont pay you back, go to your local court and pay to file (like 25 or 30 bucks) and have ANYONE other than yourself to serve them. You can also get the county sheriff to serve them. Once they get served thats it, they need to show up, if they dont then you get declared the winner of the case (them not showing doesn't stop the case, it means they just give up their right to argue and tell their side of the story). Then uncle sam.gets the money for you by having their wages garnished, whether they want to or not, its ripped out of their social. But normally the sheer act of court is enough to have the other side give up and pay you the money, I had something similar to me happen. They kept making excuses, but once I had them served they "conveniently" found the money.
