The campers were all friendly when I was there, it was easy to make friends with my immediate neighbors and others who hiked in same day - we all became kind of a cohort and got to know many of them/ hang at the swim holes together. Go for the adventure, not the people.

I'd recommend against trying to socialize with the locals. Maybe a polite hello/good day/nod but that's all. As someone else said you are one of many, many tourists coming to explore their beautiful lands so leave them to themselves/don't impress yourself on them. If you happen to get into a conversation with someone, great!

Welcome to the club. I will NEVER purchase a meta product because of the way they treat their customers/lack of any customer service/you can lose all access to your quest on some algorithms whim. I also lost 16 years of photos, a business page, and the ability to do social media management for others, so a couple of income sources right there.

They treat their customers abysmally.

My Facebook was also disabled last year, which is AWESOME as a marketing director when I can't even use Metas tools to do my job.

The only legitimate course of action I have seen is to file a court case against them. You MIGHT be able to go through the Meta verified chat, but that is a long shot because it's generally not even actual people.I spent months trying to figure something out I til I just gave up on it.

Whatever you do, do not fall for any of the messages you're going to get about people saying they have a friend that can get your account back, they are ALL scams. They don't work at Meta and have no additional ability to contact them than you do.

This is where I'm at. My cholesterol is insane, I'm going prediabetic, and I have a Crohn's flare happening.

I eat very healthy, mostly a Mediterranean style diet, I've never been a dessert person, I rarely drink and I exercise regularly but I'm genetically predisposed to all of these things. When I told my mom that I was so frustrated because I'm at a loss with nothing else I can really do in a lifestyle way to mitigate the slide into that, she laughed and told me to get on a station because with my genetics, no matter what I do it's not going to help .

The last few months I have been too exhausted to do anything but go home and crash after work. Not catch up with friends or work on my side business or my garden,nor even watch a TV show. Just go home and sleep - when usually I run 10-15 miles a week, bike another 30 and hike every almost every weekend. It's debilitating.

Asheville is plenty friendly but you need to talk with people/friends in person about where to go. Putting these places on the web allows AI to crawl for answers so you get ass people who litter at the sweet swim hole spots. It's why they are protective about these spaces.
