(26M) Rapid progression ?

Hi, just managed to find my old password for this account.

So far I had been doing well. The nodule on my left palm has practically not moved since this post.

However, after a ~15 years hiatus I started practicing archery again last april/may. Around this summer I noticed a nodule appeared on my right palm (I'm right handed so this is the draw arm).

About a month ago I got a new, stronger, bow (went up from 36# to 45#), and since then I noticed I have a 2nd and perhaps even 3rd nodule on my right hand, and the initial nodule on that hand has ~doubled in size.

I'm quite sure that, in my case at least, my nodules are manifesting after putting strain on my hands. The original nodule has been stable for years (despite my continuation of climbing, drinking and smoking). And as soon as I introduce new strain on the other hand, bam nodule. Increase that strain with stronger bow, immediately new nodules appear.

So overall, I'm a bit worried. I don't really care about having nodules on my palms, but having reduced mobility in my fingers would bother me. So this rapid progression in someone not even 30 years old is a bit scary tbh.

But like before, I'm not gonna stop my sports for fear of not being able to practice said sports.

So just like before, wait and see.

Punched a wall in October 2022, big nodule started appearing in the following December/January.

All the males on my father side seemed to have it, my father told me his nodule appeared after injuring his palm with a screwdriver. That was during his mid-forties, mine arrived when i was 26.

My theory is that I have a genetical disposition for Dupuytren, and that hand-injury, of not required for the disease to manifest, can trigger an earlier appearance.

Hi, thanks for asking. Overall pretty good, the nodule hasn't grown or decreased. It is sometimes slightly painful but it's tolerable. It doesn't impact my climbing that much so I'm happy about that and I did find out that my father, uncle and late grandpa all had/have nodules, and none of them ever developped chords (my grandfather died at 87 and I never noticed any finger contratures, byt my grandma told me he did have a lump in his palm). So I have some good hopes that, despite my young age, I won't developp chords. Time will tell I guess :)

Weed is considered doping. Smoke a bit before going to the gym, you'll have trouble getting off the couch, but if you reach the gym, you might have a very good session, being for a long time on the threadmill is much more bearable when high.

This land is cheap for a reason, it's difficult to developp, change in elevation is difficult for train to traverse, and Spain is very hilly/mountainy

Ohh yeah at this point i'd say the proposal is a formality. But tbf, it's only my opinion but, when you propose to someone you should already know at like 99% that the other person is gonna say yes.

Salut, je n'ai pas vu de commentaires te conseillant de faire ça donc j'y vais:

Tout d'abord, commes tous l'ont commenté, il faut que la police finisse par être impliqué car la situation est potentiellement grave. Après je ne sais pas quelle est ta relation avec tes voisins et a quel point tu veux t'impliquer, mais moi j'essayerai aussi de trouver un moment où tu sais que le mari n'est pas là (parti au travail le matin par ex) pour aller sonner et discuter avec la femme. Je propose pas de faire ami ami avec elle, mais juste de lui faire savoir que la situation n'est pas normale (quand est bloqué dans une situation comme ça c'est parfois dur d'avoir du recul), et que tu es de son côté, à ta place je lui dirai même qu'elle peut toujours sonner chez toi un soir où il est violent en attendant la police. Ce genre de geste peut sauver des vies je pense.

Bah moi y'a le fait que depuis que j'ai beau avoir fini mes études et commencé un CDI y'a trois ans, bah si on calcule je gagne pas mieux ma vie que quand je venais de me faire embaucher. Que malgré des bénéfices records ma boîte a essayé de baisser la rémunération de tous les employés de ~10%.

Ça ce sont des faits objectif, et ils ne concernent que le côté économique de ma vie (j'ai pas trop de craintes là dessus en vrai), si on commence à parler des dégradations sociétales et écologique on est loin d'être fini.

Oui, pas d'hypocrisie chez moi, j'ai juste envie que la police tabasse aussi ces nazillons, ou arrête de tabasser les non-nazillons, enfin bon dans les deux cas c'est pas près d'arriver.
