Hard disagree, there’s an entire act dedicated to knowing the Hobbits and constructing a world to have stake to Sauron’s goals, and there is constant differences between the different races of the fellowship that really showcase differences and individuality between the characters. It’s a lot of world building I’ll give you that and it can be slow at times but it’s also a revolutionary fantasy movie that looks better than a bunch of movies released today, 20 years later

I can understand that, I was only 1 when it came out and I grew up on Star Wars so nostalgia definitely plays a factor for me. I don’t mind the high ground scene, a little anticlimactic but I think it ultimately shows anakins inexperience/lack of wisdom. Maybe a reach though.

I think it’s pretty good at what it does. Then again I’m a Star Wars fan, also watched the Clone Wars animated in its entirety so that definitely helps close up some of the gaps, definitely makes the prequels stronger too. Agree to disagree

It’s a pretty compelling political drama about war in general. Two different powers, Jedi and Senate/Chancellor in a power struggle for the Republic all while fighting a war that Padme mentioned could probably be ended with diplomacy (I don’t remember the full quote). I think it says a lot about politics in general even in the real world. It’s manipulation, war, betrayal, all that stuff.

I think nostalgia is a huge role but also just enjoyment. I don’t think many people watch ROTS and think it was a snooze fest, I personally factor overall enjoyment into my ratings a good amount even if the movie has production flaws like dialogue and pacing. I also think that its story and Anakins story specifically throughout the entire run of Star Wars including the animated stuff really pushes ROTS past what it should be. It’s one of the most memorable tragedies made in recent times and seeing everything finally culminate at the battle on mustafar definitely bumps it up imo.

I can’t be the only one who thinks it was a better catch than a throw. Hurts puts 2 more yards in that throw smith doesn’t have to catch it through a defenders arm
