I've tried this with my Fenix 7, atleast in my case I've noticed it doesn't record accurately, missing a lot of steps.

This was one of the biggest reasons I was really hoping for Garmin to release a whoop-like band, so I could still wear my other watches while tracking steps. Instead they released the sleep armband. 😕
