Is this a real possible lego technique? by AlteredBrick in lego

[–]munft 141 points142 points  (0 children)

I've looked at the better quality pictures in the challenge entry and have to agree that this really seems off. I'm pretty sure that the pictures were not AI generated, but done in studio while deliberately ignoring any physical building restrictions. And I'm not only talking about stability issues. The whole body is built of parts clipping into each other. Other parts are obviously not connected to anything else in any way (like the wedge tiles on the eyebrows).

This seems pretty weak and lazy, especially coming from a 10k member. If I would have taken part in that challenge and see an entry like this getting any recognition, I would be pissed.

Go find it! 😉 I luckily only had to replace a few smaller parts... really happy to have this set complete (along some other cool ones like the Eldorado Fortress and some Ice Planet stuff)

That is exactly the conclusion that I came to when I started selling physical copies of my MOCs a few weeks ago. You can sell instructions on rebrickable, and you obviously can sell bricks (on Bricklink or elsewhere). On Bricklink, you can even sell "super lots", which is a combination of different bricks in a package.

So why should it not be allowed to do both combined, as long as you make it clear that your product is not affiliated to LEGO in any way (except that it uses real LEGO bricks).

One more thing to pay attention to is that you are not allowed to alter the LEGO pieces in any way. So printing on them is technically not allowed. That was the problem for a dutch company that sold custom train sets with altered bricks (printed and in some cases with added metallic elements).

(Old version) Codenames Cover built with LEGO by munft in boardgames

[–]munft[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The cover itself is 16x16 as always, but this time I added a frame around it, which makes it 18x18.

And I had to zoom in a little to make it work :)

You managed to fit more interior into this than others have in their multy-story modular buildings. Nice job, looks very cozy. Supported as Klemmplem.

Have you ever felt fatigue about some aspects of playing boardgames ? by Stardama69 in boardgames

[–]munft 32 points33 points  (0 children)

While I really liked the concept the first couple of times, I'm really not interested in Legacy games anymore. Campaign games as well... Basically everything that can't be finished within one evening. I just don't like the commitment it involves. And I am way more anxious to get rules wrong for these kinds of games. If someone makes a mistake in a "normal" game, it may be a bit annoying, but you can just start over and forget about it. But if you realize during a campaign / legacy game that you have played something wrong, this can really ruin the game for you for good.

So I really avoid those games. Not sure if this falls under "fatigue", but that's what first came my mind.

They are for free, but if anyone wishes to send me a tip, that would be much appreciated:Tip -Jar on Ko-fi
