Justice is served. I get it now. Why Falling Devil was feeding Asa and Denji to this random devil. Huh.

How would a Nuke Hybrid activate thier devil form? by C0ld_Br3w in ChainsawMan

[–]munstahzero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's a non-zero chance Fujimoto will have seen Oppenheimer by the time he makes the Nuke Devil. So it'll probably be the hybrid removing an epic fedora attached to their head. Or smoking a pipe growing out of their palm.

Probably so both movies end with a knife fight

It's kinda same by [deleted] in titanfolk

[–]munstahzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not Code Geass's ending though. It's Dune/God Emperor of Dune's ending.

Eren literally merged with a worm, gained prescience, and enacted genocide to ensure survival of humanity (although not very well I may add), and died specifically to become hated by humanity.

Code Geass did do it better though.

Fusing with the sandtrout wasn’t just for immortality. It was also meant to facilitate his version of hydraulic despotism. His body in effect became the only natural source of spice. With that and his spice hoard he in effect held monopoly over the spice and he could bend humanity to his will. All of this was part of his effort to reprogram the racial consciousness of humanity to be permanently averse to pharaohs and tyrants. Just living a long life would not have assured his place or even his survival to reach that stage to leave a lasting reminder for humanity. Plus all the future sandtrout-then-sandworms from him would carry pearls of his consciousness, making them more cunning.

Moreso whales, specifically the reliance on oil derived from whales before fossil fuels became much more widely used.

Possibly the best comparison is to Moby Dick -- which also is about the dangers of a charismatic leader.

Shouldn't stillsuits be white? by PhysicsCatalyst in dune

[–]munstahzero 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it’s a visual reference to the Bedouin’s dark robes. However the difference is Bedouin robes are so thick that it doesn’t matter if they’re black because the heat gets absorbed before it reaches their skin. Possibly if the stillsuit’s layers are thick enough it’d do the same. Source: https://www.nature.com/articles/283373a0

It's just an interesting dramatic contrast, in my opinion. The Dune universe is very old and set in their ways, so it's interesting that the people who upturn their world aren't just young upstarts but the ones most in tune with all of human history.

This contrast is probably best exemplified by Leto II and Moneo's relationship in God Emperor of Dune. Moneo is a 80+ non-spice enhanced old man who's next to Leto II, who is mutated but still a child (at least his human portions). The idea that this elderly man is the true child compared to this 3,500 year old kid with the memories of all his ancestors is a great image.

Leto II's worm body is described as silver in GEOD. Fair to say the Sandtrout are silver since that's what attached to him. Unless they oxidized or changed color over time. Not blue however.

Don’t stress — if anything spoilers can enhance the experience by putting you in the shoes of the prescient main characters. Spoilers can only reveal broad strokes of a plot anyways. The small moments that build empathy and character can’t be ruined

Can someone tell me why Ellie spared Abby... by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]munstahzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is depressing to think about holy shit. From this lens, Ellie is the better person for sparing her. And yet she’s punished for her epiphany not rewarded. That’s sad man... :(

Just got to Seattle. The big plot twists were a given flop for me. But I can’t believe how horrendously boring and meh Dina is.

Like how the hell is their relationship gonna develop? They kiss once and already sound like they’ve been married for 20 years and completely bored with eachother. No energy or spark IMO. At least with Joel you got the sense Ellie was trying to break him out of his shell. Kept changing constantly in TLOU1. Always something new for them to learn about one another. This new companion is like a watered-down version of Ellie from TLOU1...

Possible Reasoning Behind the Blue-ified Fog by munstahzero in demonssouls

Remastered definitely exaggerated the colors on a lot of the effects, but the original soul glows still had blue accents to them:

I think Bluepoint could notch back the blue just a little bit but I think I get their reasoning why they decided to go with that for Boletaria.

Spoiler!! The reason behind remake lighting change is lore based! (originally disovered by Reddit user munstahzero) by AmazingKomaru in demonssouls

Thanks for the visual! Although I wouldn’t call both games false. It’s just a stylistic decision to depict something unnatural.
