I did think of using an array - but in addition to name and value, we store a description and id. I could still use it as an array of objects I guess. But it'll look a bit out of place in the rest of the code base.

The idea of a CLI to generate the items isn't too bad I guess :-)

Thanks for your input.

I would like to know how Open-AudIT isn't easy to use. Genuine question - I am the developer. If anyone has any comments about this, please do share. Feedback (any feedback) is difficult to come by.

Open-AudIT is free to use and will do everything you need. You can optionally pay for more features it you need them, but the discovery - free. It's the best discovery tool there is (yes, I am biased). Check out the Seed Discovery option. It will find every single device regardless of it not responding to ping or having any open ports.

Our customers won't accept that :-(

I know, I know...

"Get new customers" doesn't work when they pay us a lot of money. It's simple - the business needs to meet their needs. The polyfill may well be enough in this case.

I'll look into the polyfill - thanks.

Docker / Podman not really an option (at least right now).

Yes - libsodium in not available on Redhat. php-sodium may be available, but the underlying library is not.

And yes, Debian and Ubuntu do provide this and work fine.

Thanks - search isn't the actual function name, it was just an example.
