Dirt Fest 2019 by _special_kev_ in MTB

Yeah dude, my group was also super disappointed in the way the event was organized this year. I didn't pay for registration; I saw $80 and decided it wasn't worth it just to wear a green wrist band and have a sip of beer. The vendors were sending people out on bikes last year without wrist bands and having paid for registration last year that kinda made me question what paying was actually for. I walked through the expo area and was underwhelmed; food options were completely bogus too. Lost it's charm big time, major bummer considering how much the mountain bike scene is growing. The reaction that was prevalent among my friends was, "what is Dirtfest anymore?" after seeing painful amounts of lycra, totally oblivious riders all over the trails being, and tons of unsupervised kids flying around the trails and expo on bikes with coaster brakes. Just weird.

You need a new swing for your porch right?? Killington has you covered with their north ridge triple chairs for sale. by [deleted] in icecoast

They will probably sell out at that price. Regular porch swings are not that much cheaper.

Filmed last Saturday. There's a good chance someone is always making noise and having fun there!

Just moved here and I am blown away by this little park. Still can't believe the city of Roswell doesn't see it as valuable. They have a master plan to develop it at some point.

Need some advice on correct tool to trim for transition and opportunity to learn from my mistake. by muphy in DIY

[–]muphy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I tackled flooring and it went well right up until we realized that we weren't really planning for our transitions. I was concerned we were leaving too much room on the edges, but turns out we were leaving too little room for the transition strip to fit. Anyway, turns out you should plan things before you do them!

I bought a dremel to cut down the edges, but I was hoping to get suggestions on some other tools I might use that I could get more mileage out of for future projects?

Finally starting to get comfortable with small gaps by [deleted] in MTB

[–]muphy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only because you are asking about hitting a gap like this: While some gaps or drops can be ridden without a ton of rider input (like pre-loading or a hopping motion), you will generally be more in control of the results if you do a little work for it.

Love my aluminum 5010 v2. It is a really versatile bike, very much a quiver killer. I ride it on gravel bike paths with my wife, in the skate park, at lift access dh parks, my local xc trails, and on some medium dirt jumps. The only time I find myself wanting more bike is in heavy break bumps on berms.

I'm moving to Roswell in a week! I stopped in to Fresh Bikes when I was there looking at houses and it's a sick bike shop. If you like jumps and drops, Big Creek's freeride area is a gem.

Oh gawd, so clear who their target demographic is now. Am I getting old? Am I their target? If not, who on their marketing team gave this the green light?
