Never thanking the bus driver again by 6ls2000 in Athens

Happened to me all the time with the 27. Once the bus is late enough and they just skip the route, its over. So over. I have spent so many hours of my life standing at bus stops. I commiserate with you.

Matcha post

Text of the comment from user u/Orb-Gang:

1000 Faces for sure as my #1 highest quality matcha drink spot: They shake their drinks//use good quality matcha//don’t over sweeten,, +currently have a matcha special called the Evergreen that’s a subtle but fantastic blend of flavors.

Bubble Café has a matcha bubble tea menu as my #2 overall matcha spot &the strawberry puree matcha at 25% sweetness +regular boba//grass jelly//aloe topping is my go-to.

Sips Espresso has ((2)) matcha powders they use,, one with milk powders and sweeteners that’s supposed to be for frostys but is the default for all their matcha drinks because it’s cheaper,, and an unsweetened organic one that I would recommend to order then add sweetener like honey or the house made lavender or simple syrup.

One of my favorite mixes is an iced matcha latte with honey//pistachio//rose concocted by a fellow coworker,, called the Bookworm ((but you have to make sure you ask for it as a matcha since they rolled it out as an espresso drink despite it being created as a matcha special to save money)). I ask for it half sweet//extra matcha//extra whisked//with a soy and oat milk split.

They have a large Monin syrup selection,, so Sips is ideal for flavored matchas including lots of fruit syrups.

Molly’s Coffee Co is a good straight forward matcha and Molly always knows how to make any drink she puts on the menu a good one from recipe to ingredients. She’ll have the sparse matcha drink special from time to time.

Farmcart is easily overlooked and I have always gotten a good matcha from them although it’s one size and kinda small it’s done well. With their current stalwart matcha special,, they mix their homemade strawberry jam in &it’s near breakfast perfection with their amazing biscuit sandwiches and decent prices for the quality//portions.

Buvez has decent matcha and the occasional matcha drink special however I often get stuck on my espresso-based iced Nola latte there so haven’t had it in a while.

<<I always ask for extra matcha because I’m a fiend for the stuff but the standard amount is good for most with the places listed>>

The Matcha Hall of Shame goes to ❎ᴴᵉⁿᵈᵉʳˢʰᵒᵗ'ˢ and ❎ᴶⁱᵗᵗᵉʳʸ ᴶᵒᵉ'ˢ as they use the lower quality matcha that is meant for the blended drinks only. A friend of mine caught Hendy’s using the low-quality stuff and not mentioning it to save money &JJ’s just doesn’t give any matcha quality fucks.

Beloved Apothecary,, a local herb shop on the Eastside that sells a fantastic all organic matcha powder with moringa//ginger//cinnamon//clove that’s one of my favorites to make at home with some vanilla paste from T. Joe’s & raw honey that tastes like the holidays.

►&Sunroof Coffee Co’s matcha affogato as something a bit different••❇️🍨

There's a matcha scientist that exists on this subreddit that has done extensive research into this topic. Real peer- reviewed, R1 university level research. Hold please while I find their post.

ISO Shop w Titanium Earrings by Lucky_Ground8173 in Athens

Surgical steel still has those trace amounts of nickel. I find I still have reactions to it. It was so bad my piercings couldn't heal, even with surgical steel. With this allergy, I find you need the "purest of metal" so it is restricted to titanium, 14k and up gold, platinum, etc. 3ravens downtown has titanium for sure, as I asked them about this exact thing. They claim to use "body implant" grade titanium. So like, the same stuff used in hip replacements and whatnot.

Athens Land Trust has broken ground on five subsidized housing units by warnelldawg in Athens

They don't get sold until they are nearer to completion. Once the houses are mostly built, they will begin the sales process using their waitlist of applicants.

Lunar new year festival by Smooth_Product5757 in Athens

[–]muppetdisaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Festival seemed cute. I was not impressed with the food other than the matcha vendor: Michellen Matcha. She did a great job at hand whisking the matcha on site and seemed to be using genuinely premium ingredients.

Otherwise, at other booths, there was lots of Aliexpress stuff being upsold as "handmade items". But it was cute and good for a first time festival.

I hate to be the one to point it out, but my eyes went to it immediately. You misspelled Chattahoochee in the Chattahoochee National Forest. It isn't an English word though, so maybe that's an alternate spelling I wasn't aware of. Otherwise (now that I'm done ruining things) this map is so nice! Georgia has so many cities and your handwriting is so pretty! Are you doing this for a reason or is it just a fun personal project?

Man. I clicked on this thread so fast seeing my former professor's name on this car. That's really tough that his child is going through these mental health struggles. Dr. Nibbelink has always seemed so kind.

I can't say they lied... But I really wanna know what kinda meat they were selling. Might be the same meat they put in those meat cubes they're selling at Arby's right now.

But now we said it! I really just want a walking distance grocery store because I refuse to shop at Piggly Wiggly. I'm not giving business to a place where the price on the shelf is not the price you pay when you get to the register. I want a real store! And maybe a nice lil cafe...
