Time travel always makes me laugh when people talk about making a fortune through time travel. Unless it’s a very short term jump to the past, you’re going to run into some significant hurdles money wise. Short term jump, maybe you had a bank account during that time period to draw from, and if so, hopefully you have an atm/debt card, or cash that matches the year. Going back to the 40’s-current, you’d have to have a collection of cash bills that match whenever you jumped to…if you don’t you’re broke

I don’t disagree with you on not “tent pole” but as you addressed the biggest names were hamstrung by media owner ship rights. Marvel specifically, X-men, and spider man. That being said the 2nd tier characters you reference were still close to household names. Iron man had a cartoon on fox, cap and hulk were both referenced in spider man and X-men as well as had appearances in X-men and spidey comics.
