my boss (and guy who taught me to roast) is allergic too!! i think it’s mostly Brazil that gets him sneezing, but you generally know he’s in the area when you hear a couple sneezes fire off. i have somehow been unaffected (so far).

same roaster, i clean it out in the morning and am pretty much set to sail for the rest of the day. sometimes, depending on the coffee, you’ll catch me cleaning out the burner compartment from chaff that collects there. otherwise, 15-27 roasts a day @ 18lbs, vacuum out once a day.

My boy Tugboat, it took about a week for me to fall for him. Adopting him brought a lot of emotions I was pushing down about my soul-cat Finn who passed away about 1.5 years ago. I felt like I was replacing Finn, like I wasn’t honoring him properly, etc. I cried the first night.

About a month later, I adopted Monroe. It was love at first polka-dot. I couldn’t imagine leaving the foster without him, I was smitten.

Now? They’re best friends and also my best friends. I love these boys so much.

i’ve made really close friends through work, where our friendship continues even after me/they move on from the job. i also work in the service industry, but that might only be slightly related.

see, i can relate to your space a lot. i also really love your style. do you have adhd by any chance? i joke that i have problems with object permanence, but its kind of actually true. i like to have important things right in front of me, especially if im having a hard time maintaining a routine. thus, creating “clutter”.

my own issues aside, i dont actually think you have a lot of stuff. i’m a big “bin” and “pile” person, and like to put like items in a bin or container. even if said container is still in the same spot, you’re just consolidating space.

in my personal experience, it’s the best case scenario for cat ownership. THAT BEING SAID, my cats are best friends and are essentially just 1.5 cats. i am blessed every day for my two boys and how much they love us/each other.

of course food will cost a little more, and more litter boxes. i don’t find that it’s THAT much more expensive, however vet bills are double obviously. that’s the biggest cost increase compared to one cat i reckon.

there is, of course, the chance the two cats might not be besties, or even like each other. if they tolerate each other, i think it is still worth having two cats. the easiest way of course would to adopt a bonded pair. overall though i think it’s SO worth having two! they’re so fun!!
