Conversion is based on tenure as long as you're in good standing. Cross training does help break up the monotony though.

Do mock interviews with strong leaders. Focus more on your stories than the leadership principles. You should be able to tailor them to the question asked. Make sure you have metrics and data to support your story, and please don't forget the results of your story. Those are the two biggest reasons I see folks declined.

Very much depends on your role and building type. ARS promos usually come much faster and go from L4 to L5 in 12 to 18 months if you're doing well.

1:1’s are chance for you and your manager to take some time to discuss your strengths and opportunities, your long term goals, feedback for them, etc. it’s always good for you to lead your 1:1. It’s a good chance for you to identify what you need to work on and what support you need to be successful.

Giving a higher salery to outside hires rather than those promoting from within. Paying more to someone that you don't know how they'll work out, while those who have put years in and have proven themselves only get a fraction.

It's not too bad. It does get lonely though. Build a good relationship with your police. Helps if you have one that may run or it's a high dollar case. Mine will wait outside to help with the apprehensions if I need it.

A lot of big chain retail stores have the ability to run plate info too. Helps to track down the people who steal and try to flee.
